Judged on jockey bookings looks to be the lesser of the two the yard run; £20,000 yearling, second foal. Dam, 2yo 5f winner, closely related to Listed-placed up to 5.7f winner Rathaath, tongue-tie on for debut, one of the lesser lights.
Fourth foal, half-brother to a couple of winners including 2yo 7f/7.6f winner Johan. Dam 6f 2yo winner, half-sister to Listed-placed 8.4f winner Assume. Yard trained the dam (Sandreamer), reported to be precocious and speedy, note any market vibes.
Yard already up and running with their juveniles this year; half-brother to useful 6f 2yo winner Desert Safari (by Slade Power). Dam also won over 6f as a juvenile; would be a surprise not to see him figure prominently in the market and race.
Looks to be the more fancied of the two the stable run; £20,000 yearling, first foal out of a mare who was a 5f winner including as a juvenile. Yard 7-50 with 2yo newcomers last year; worth a market check.
Yard 2-19 with juvenile debutantes last five years (stable not known for their juvenile runners). £52,000 yearling, half-brother to several winners, including the useful winner at up to 6f Shamsaya; dam 5f-7f 2yo winner; need to see market support.
Yard 0-5 with 2yo newcomers last year; 40,000gns yearling, third foal. Half-brother to a couple of winners at up to 1m2f. Dam 7f winner who stayed 1m1f, looks to be more one for the future given the stables modus operandi with 2yo's.
Stable had a couple of 2yo debutante winners last year but hardly prolific in this sphere. 78,000gns yearling; half-brother to 5f (including as a 2yo) winner Gold Stone and 2yo 6f winner Foad. Dam half-sister to a couple of smart 2yo types.
First 2yo runner of the year for a yard who were 5-50 with their debutante 2yo's last year. First foal; dam (Make Fast) was useful for this yard (twice Listed placed). Owned the Queen it would be no surprise to see him turn in a smart display on debu
Already gelded son of Holy Roman Emperor out of a Shamardal mare who was an unraced half-sister to 1m Group 1 winner Here Comes When. Stable went a modest 3-42 with 2yo newcomers last year; others appeal more as a result.
Price rose appreciably from foal to yearling (€32,000 - 210,000gns); half-brother to 1m4f winner Maze Runner. Dam 7f winner, half-sister to 1m 2yo Listed winner/French 1,000 Guineas second Irish Rookie; warrants a second glance in the market.

Second of a sextet of 2yo events that start the Newmarket card with no form to evaluate so once again stakes should be kept to a minimum. Mark Johnston has already landed a couple of the season’s initial juvenile events and his Eye Of Heaven will no doubt be a leading player in this. Preference though is for the Richard Hannon trained VENTURA TORMENTA who has been described by his trainer as a straightforward, uncomplicated sort. The Queen’s Tactical deserves a mention his pedigree looking one of the better ones in the contest. Roger Varian’s Sidi Mansour is another to consider with the yard more than capable of firing in one first-time up.
- Ventura Tormenta
- Tactical
- Eye Of Heaven
