Has finished last on both his two starts beaten by wide margins; may well do better in time but does not look betting material at present.

Has beaten just one horse home in three outings and until he shows some signs of ability is probably best avoided for the time being.

From a family who does well on this surface; will have learned plenty from his debut and only racecourse appearance last month where he showed good early speed; definite chance if making some progress.

Two placed efforts on this surface in February look to give him every chance in the contest where he showed a bit of weakness in the finish; should be able to improve again and going in the right direction.

Not disgraced on only racecourse appearance at Chepstow in August over seven furlongs; raced that day as though sprinting would be more suitable and it will be interesting to see the level of stable confidence.

Both racecourse appearance have seen the gelding trail in last place including when running very green at Newcastle last month; difficult to make a case for on that evidence.

Well beaten over an extended mile at Wolverhampton on only racecourse appearance and very difficult to assess making this huge step back in trip.

Monsieur filly out of a Kyllachy mare; related to plenty of winners on this surface and will be one to note in the betting ring on debut.

Has shown glimpses of ability on both career starts to date at Chelmsford and Lingfield; hard to know how she will fare on this new surface but one of the more likely winners if handling it.
First foal of a winning half-sister to useful two-year-old winner Jeanne Girl; last of eight beaten 24l lengths on debut here over six furlongs last month; entitled to improve but probably not up to winning races just yet.

Forecasts

Capla Spirit (5/4), Intrepid Italian (11/8), Sweet Talked (7/1), Speedymining (16/1), The Mackem Rocket (20/1), Whistling Sands (25/1), Capricious Madam (25/1), White Lion (100/1), Henry The Sixth (100/1), Bluelion (125/1)

Verdict

Connections of CAPLA SPIRIT look to have found a good opportunity for this gelding to get off the mark following a run a consistent place finishes. He has run well at this track on his last two outings over five and six furlongs. If he can produce similar he may prove hard to peg back. Intrepid Italian is an interesting contender having raced just the once at Chepstow last August. This minimum trip could suit him well and any market support should be noted. Speedymining may prove best of the rest if able to build on an immature performance last time out at Newcastle.
  1. Capla Spirit
  2. Intrepid Italian
  3. Speedymining
