Winner at this venue over 1m in November but generally well held in a number of starts over 7f/1m since. Could be worth a check in the market taking a large step up in trip.

13-race maiden who ran with credit over 1m4f to finish a little over 5L adrift of Wild Shot earlier this month before another creditable effort over C&D in January. Needs more improvement to get involved here.

Showed a modicum of ability at low level for Andrew Balding over staying trips. Far from ruled out here now with slight step back in trip possibly ideal.

Second Reserve: Seven-race maiden yet to trouble the judge in three starts at this venue. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Verdict

With the majority of runners struggling to hit the frame at this venue in the last 12 months the John McConnell-trained HAPPAUGUE appears to have an outstanding chance to follow up his win over C&D in January. The second in the race, Rock On Aidan has gone on to win since. Alhajjaj won over C&D last month off a 3lb lower mark and can give another good account here with Ragtime Red who is a winner of two of his 11 starts over C&D, also in the mix. Guiding could surprise if bouncing back to form at a price.
