Showed ability on the Flat for James Tate, winning a 1m4f Thirsk maiden in May 2017. Won a maiden hurdle at Hexham (2m) when last seen in September 2018 but after 530-days off is best watched unless there is market positivity.

Useful chaser (145-rated). Justified favouritism over C&D last month, staying on well to win by 4¾L. Couldn't follow up at Newcastle (2m½f) after trying to make all but should appreciate the return to this surface and is fairly handicapped.

Ran moderately in two runs since a long break at Nottingham (1m2f) and a Newbury hurdle (2m4½f). Ran well off this mark at Kempton (2m) in November 2018 and a repeat of that would see him involved but needs to bounce back.

A C&D win and a fourth from two starts here. That win came three runs ago and although he hasn't matched it since at Chelmsford and Newcastle, he wasn't disgraced. Only 1lb above his winning mark and cannot be easily dismissed.

Reeled in late on at Wolverhampton (1m6f) two starts ago. Travelled strongly into contention at Newcastle (1m4½f) last time but didn't find a great deal and weakened. Has won over 2m4f over hurdles but needs to prove stamina and surface both suit.

Placed twice on turf (1m5f) in 2017 but has been unsuccessful over hurdles/fences since then. Found this trip around Lingfield a little bit on the sharp side back on the level last time but the great emphasis on stamina here may help.

Made the frame in three of her four handicaps (1m6f-2m) without ever looking like winning. Good jockey booking but may need further help from the handicapper before getting off the mark. Has place claims.

Ran her best race on the AW when a staying on second at Newcastle (2m½f) last time, beaten 1½L. Is 3lb above her winning mark at Musselburgh (2m2f) in August but this testing surface provides a greater stamina test and that is a plus.

Nine-race maiden (0-5 on the Flat); beaten 18L last time at Newcastle (2m½f). Has shown very little under all codes to date and is totally unconsidered.

Lowly-rated (1-26); wouldn't have been suited by dropping right back in trip (to 1m) two starts ago but the return to 2m½f in a 'jumpers bumper' helped as he finished fifth. Hard to be confident about his chance on the balance of form.

Is well handicapped on some old form but had been in the doldrums for a while until staying on to finish third at Chelmsford (1m5½f) in a classified event. This a stronger contest and will need more to get involved.

Forecasts

War Empress (11/4), Le Musee (3/1), Bill Cody (5/1), Roudrapour (6/1), Lonimoss Bareliere (6/1), Liva (8/1), Kitty's Cove (10/1), Irish Minister (16/1), Londonia (20/1), Incus (25/1), Globetrotter (33/1), Montelimar (100/1)

Verdict

Plenty of winners on the Fibresand line-up here but the tentative selection is KITTY'S COVE, who is making her debut at this course. She stayed on strongly over this trip at Newcastle last time and having won over 2m2f, the stronger emphasis on stamina will suit. Le Musee won well over C&D two starts ago and should appreciate the return to this track off just a 4lb higher mark whilst War Empress has done a lot wrong in her handicaps to date and is unexposed compared to most.
  1. Kitty's Cove
  2. Le Musee
  3. War Empress
