Winner at Lingfield in September who had been a bit in-and-out since before second of four in minor event at that track (2m) last time. Drop in trip is no issue and first-time blinkers could irk out improvement.
C&D winner in the past but not firing as of late. Failed to trouble the judge when fifth of seven at Lingfield (1m4f) at the start of January and while on a workable mark, may be vulnerable to an improver.
Three-time winner in the past but form has become significantly wayward as of late. Nice mark but plenty more needed on evidence of latest last of seven at Kempton (1m3f) last time out.
On a baring losing streak of seventeen runs but looks to be coming back into himself. Slowly away when second at Southwell (2m) last time but holds leading claims with the visor back on.
Hasn't shown any signs of life for this yard and latest effort reflected his 100/1 outsider status when last of nine at Wolverhampton (1m1f) last time out. Up significantly in trip but faces tough task.
Game winner at Kempton two starts ago and ran a fine race under 6lb penalty when third at Lingfield (1m4f) in December. Shall be better suited by this and looks to be a main danger.
Two-time winner who has had a stop-star career, but showed signs of encouragement when fourth of seven at Kempton (1m3f) earlier this month. Looked in need of a stiffer test so not to be discounted.
Forecasts
Lord Halifax (11/10), Lady Bergamot (7/2), Original Choice (6/1), Cosmelli (7/1), Desert Friend (10/1), Envoy (16/1), Borodin (50/1)
A host of horses in this contest seem to be coming back into their best form, including COSMELLI, whose losing streak could come to an end in this on the evidence of his latest effort. The headgear can only be a positive and should sharpen him up enough to take this off a very workable mark. The same can be said for top weight Original Choice who returns with blinkers, however his significant weight burden could be a concern, while Lord Halifax and Desert Friend have both been crying out for a step up in trip for this contest.
- Cosmelli
- Lord Halifax
- Desert Friend
