Modest handicapper whose not been seen on the Flat since running moderately for Paul Nicholls in an AW amateur seller on Tapeta. Hurdles runs for this yard have been uninspiring (pulled up last time); hard to build a case for even off a reduced mark.
Yet to break his maiden in 12 starts including six on the AW; has run creditably in his last four starts (well backed favourite last time). Ought to be winning events such as this; feeling is the handicapper may have him in his grasp off this mark.
Looked to have gone off the boil when last seen (tried in first-time blinkers) over 2m at Wolverhampton in a better contest than this. The break and an ease in grade should help her find her feet again; slipped 1lb below her last winning mark.
Not won for nearly two years but showed some signs of life last time out shaping better than the bare result when down in this grade for the first time. Trying this trip for the first time there must be a stamina doubt; can't be totally ruled out.
Fair sort who has been knocking on the door of late with and without headgear. Shaped well from a poor position over 1m2f at Lingfield last time (given plenty to do); finished well (never nearer), return to this trip will suit; runs well here.
Only AW win came on the Fibresand late last year; kept busy over hurdles since that victory showing only modest form. Ran with credit back on the Flat last time on Tapeta (1m6f); eased 1lb from last time, still looks too high in the handicap.
Built on some promising efforts when upped to 1m4f to score at Wolverhampton on his third try at this distance off a 10lb lower mark. Lightly-raced since that win this mark demands further progress on a rare trip away from a Tapeta surface.
Both his career wins have come over this C&D the latest last time out when he displayed some gritty qualities to win off a 4lb lower mark. 0-5 off marks of 60 plus this will be a new challenge (never won outside of 0-60 company); others appeal more.
Useful performer as a 2yo in France winning on the AW over an extended 6f. Very lightly-raced since coming to GB faring poorly last time after a break over 1m2f at Lingfield; hard to build a case for him.
Forecasts
Noble Fox (15/8), Double Legend (5/2), Dangerous Ends (4/1), Sing Out Loud (10/1), Willkommen (14/1), Vampish (16/1), Twpsyn (20/1), Epic Adventure (33/1), Meagher's Flag (50/1)
A few if and buts in this 1m4f handicap but there can be no doubt that DANGEROUS ENDS deserves to resume winning ways at a course where he is a triple winner over shorter trips. He’s hit the crossbar on the last two occasions and it’s hoped that rather more positive ride with some luck in running will see him back in the winners enclosure. Double Legend sets a decent standard having won over C&D twice but needs to prove himself in this company. Noble Fox and Sing Out Loud are two others that look capable in this grade but the former may be in the grip of the assessor whilst the latter needs to prove his stamina for this test.
- Dangerous Ends
- Sing Out Loud
- Double Legend
