Lightly raced over the last couple of seasons and well held in both outings in 2019; he did win a maiden over C&D two years ago but November's form leaves a bit to be desired. Others more appealing on these terms.
Good record here for his former trainer and encouraging signs on second start his current yard when his finished as runner up at Southwell last week. Needs to back that up here but solid claims if doing so; one to bear in mind.
Well held in all three starts for his current; stretching his AW record to 0-10 in the process. He's on an attractive mark but needs to prove he's still got the wherewithal to exploit the handicapper's generosity.
Had wind surgery in June and now reaping the benefits; won his last two starts in good style and remains in good heart. However, they were both weak races and he's got more on now despite being nudged down 1lb for winning an apprentices race latest.
Bounced back to form with a comfortable success over C&D at the start of this month; that was his third course win over the distance and underlined his well being. The rider's claim negates the 5lb hike; still a player.
Left Keith Dalgliesh after being pulled up over hurdles at Sedgefield in October and missed her intended stable debut (self certified) here last month. Has a win on Tapeta (over this sort of trip at Newcastle) to her name but may just need the run.
Form dipped on the Flat and no joy in three starts over hurdles recently; competitively weighted on the pick of his old form but needs to bounce back from a series of moderate efforts under both codes.
Scrambled home at odds of 2/9 at Chelmsford earlier in the month and hardly boosted his profile by making such hard work of what seemed a straightforward task. However, the battle will have taught him plenty and he still merits an interest here.
No impression when back on the Flat at Chelmsford last time and needs to up his game if he's going to figure here. (Yet to win on Tapeta.)
Poor run of form has continued since leaving Karl Burke earlier this winter and the filly was easy to deal with by a modest bunch here last time out. Hard to recommend on that evidence.
Best previous run was posted over C&D on only her second career start (earlier this year) but the filly has gone the wrong way since. She's yet to truly look like she's going to make up for lost time and is another who isn't hard to overlook.
Was 4½L behind Dream Magic here earlier in the month and has also been well beaten again since; currently 0-19 and would take a big effort from the filly for her to finally get off the mark.
Forecasts
Renardeau (5/2), Seven Clans (9/2), Golden Wolf (6/1), Fayetta (8/1), Clap Your Hands (9/1), Dream Magic (9/1), Zack Mayo (9/1), Uther Pendragon (12/1), Cherries At Dawn (20/1), Double Reflection (33/1), Zoffany Bay (40/1), Soloist (40/1)
A poor race can go to CLAP YOUR HANDS, who can be expected to have learned a great deal from being made to battle for victory last time out and, with this being of a similarly modest standard, the mount of 5lb claimer Poppy Bridgewater gets the nod as the most appealing suggestion. Dream Magic has three C&D wins to his name and cannot be ruled out of expanding on the statistics, while Renardeau and Seven Clans also have decent enough claims to merit checking out in the betting, too.
- Clap Your Hands
- Renardeau
- Seven Clans
