His two career victories both came over C&D earlier in the year, the latest off this mark. Runner-up to an easy winner over C&D last time and likely to be in the shake-up once again.

His form figures here read 114121. Finished a fair third at Wolverhampton (1m1½f) last weekend, beaten 1¾L. That was his first start in nearly four months and, provided this doesn't come too quickly, is high on the shortlist back at this venue.

Showed a little promise on debut at Lingfield (7f) in April but his three subsequent runs (7f/1m) have been poor, including on handicap debut last time after six-months off. Up in trip but hard to recommend.

Won debut for this yard at Lingfield (1m2f) in August and finished third back there shortly after. Three runs over 1m here since have been moderate, and will need to put his best foot forward back up in trip.

Has ran well on his last three starts over C&D, with a couple of indifferent runs in-between. Won three starts ago and wasn't beaten far last time in third, with Arlecchino's Arc just ahead of him.

Won at Goodwood (1m1f) in August and has ran fair races without looking like winning on his last two starts over slightly shorter trips. A return to this trip should suit but isn't the most consistent and likely to find a couple too good.

Off the mark in a C&D seller last month and after a disappointing run here shortly afterwards, ran a good second at Wolverhampton (1m1½f) last weekend. Isn't the most consistent but has the ability if on a going day.

Long-standing maiden (20 runs) finished close second over C&D early last month, continuing a consistent run of form. 1lb higher now and can go well again in bid for first success.

Has won just once in 37 starts; shaped encouragingly when a 28-1 runner-up to Blyton Lass at Southwell three starts ago but hasn't backed it up with heavy defeats back here and Southwell (both 1m6f) since. Others preferred.

Very experienced gelding who is without a win since July 2017. Finished eighth of sixteen at Lingfield (1m4f) on his last start. Races here from 1lb out of the weights which make his task even trickier still and others make greater appeal.

Verdict

Plenty of course winners in this line-up but none have a better record than MURAAQEB. He ran well after a break at Wolverhampton last weekend and will appreciate the return to this course. There wasn't much between Arlecchino's Arc and Dyageliv over C&D last time out and, with both in good heart, can go well again.
