Victorious by 1L in a 1m4f handicap at Ascot (good-soft) on his penultimate start. Struggled in a valuable 1m4f contest at York (good-to-firm) subsequently and is stepping back up in trip on his first start since August.
C&D winner stepped up on his return from a break when finishing 1L second in a 1m4f handicap at Epsom (good) in September. Return to this distance no issue off his 7lb higher AW mark.
Placed second on both AW starts so far most recently over 1m4f here in October last year. Best effort this campaign came when winning a 1m6f event at Goodwood (good) in August and he is one to note on his first attempt at this distance.
Promising 4L sixth in a 1m4f handicap here when making his first start since being gelded and his debut for this stable last month. Worth a check in the market stepping up in distance.
Registered a neck victory in a 1m4f handicap on soft going at Newmarket at the start of this month. Return to the AW no issue following a 4lb rise in the weights.
Best effort in three starts since joining this yard came when third over 1m4f here last month. Disappointed over this C&D on final start for previous yard in July.
Impressive 5L winner of a seller over an extended 1m4f at Musselburgh (soft) last month bust struggled on heavy ground over an extended 1m6f at Doncaster subsequently. More needed if he's to take this contest.
Returning from a break when beaten 21L into fifth in a six runner 1m4f handicap at Southwell last time out. Probably best watched at present.
Fair fifth in a 1m4f handicap at this track last time out. Stamina to prove upped in trip off a mark 1lb higher than when successful at Windsor (good-to-firm) in July.
Built on a string of placed efforts when winning a novice race over an extended 1m5f at Chelmsford last month. Purchased for 22,000 gns at the sales subsequently and is an interesting contender stepping up in distance on stable and handicap debut.
Completed a hat-trick in Class 6 contests when winning over C&D early last month. Disappointed at this level over this C&D subsequently and likely more needed if he is to take this event.
Forecasts
Past Master (2/1), Pirate King (7/2), Casa Comigo (7/1), Point In Time (9/1), Western Duke (9/1), Jersey Wonder (14/1), Pianissimo (20/1), Maquisard (20/1), Rydan (20/1), Battle Of Marathon (33/1), Azari (66/1)
PAST MASTER can make his first appearance over this distance a winning one by taking this staying handicap. The selection was a winner on his penultimate outing and having run well on both previous AW starts he can register a first victory on this surface at the chief expense of Pianissimo who is making his handicap debut and first appearance since joining this stable. Third place can go to Rydan who has run well over this C&D in the past.

- Pianissimo
