Fine 5f sprinter but just doesn't seem to get home over ths trip and on that basis is hard to recommend despite fine win in Listed Beverley Bullet in late-August.

Talented horse who is effective on turf and AW. Won Wolverhampton Listed 7f event in January but nothing since, although has run well enough in handicaps of late. A little more needed though.

Smart Group 2-winning juvenile but found life tough this year and hasn't shown enough to suggest he's a winner-in-waiting on recent evidence.

Useful sprinter won at Listed event in Sweden in September and beaten just a length in Dundalk Listed contest time after. Touch disappointing in handicap last time but a return to form cannot be ruled out.

Good sprinter who won this in 2017 and was fifth behind stable companion in last year's renewal having won 2018 Stewards' Cup. Just tired late on here over 7f last time so drop back will suit and is a candidate.

Landed fine 5f hat-trick earlier in term and bounced back to win Chelmsford 5f h'cap penultimate start off 100. Not disgraced but unplaced in Dundalk Group 3 last time. Tries 6f for first time.

In good form at present winning twice at Chelmsford in September then solid second off 102 at Kempton last time. Has fair draw for one who tracks the pace so shouldn't be at all far away.

Landed third win of the term in Kempton 6f handicap last time and mark raised 6lb to 101 as a result. Hardly run a bad race all year in decent company and another solid display seems on the cards.

Has won at this trip in the past but is arguably better at the minimum trip. May just be found wanting in this company when push comes to shove, but has the right man on board.

Won at Yarmouth in September then at Ascot last month (6f) and not disgraced in Germany last time in Group 3 on heavy ground. Going the right way and cannot be ruled out of the equation.

All five career wins have come over 5f and has yet to reach even a place at this trip. Looks set to struggle and is hard to recommend.

Grand servant who landed her third win this season when staying on well to score at Kempton last time having been a good fourth in Ayr Silver Cup time before. Has won over C&D in past but needs to find extra to finish in the money at this level.

Forecasts

Soldier's Minute (10/3), Gifted Master (7/2), Show Stealer (7/1), Above The Rest (8/1), Tinto (9/1), Leodis Dream (10/1), Stake Acclaim (11/1), Royal Birth (12/1), Beckford (14/1), Judicial (20/1), Corinthia Knight (20/1), Maygold (25/1)

Verdict

This is a tough race with plenty capable of winning. As ever in sprints a bit of luck-in-running does no harm, and GIFTED MASTER, who won this in 2017, has plenty going for him here having just failed to get home over 7f last time. Corinthia Knight is not without a chance, nor is Scottish raider Soldier's Minute, while a fair case can also be made for such as Above The Rest and Royal Birth. Both Judicial and Leodis Dream appear vulnerable at this trip.
  1. Gifted Master
  2. Corinthia Knight
  3. Soldier's Minute
