Steps up to 7f for the first time, but has never finished out of the placings in four visits to this track including the last twice. Not bred for this trip though.

Failed to build on highly encouraging handicap debut at Newbury (1m; good to soft) when returning from four-month break to finish eighth over C&D last month. May have needed the run though so is given another chance.

Never involved over slightly further here last month, but he had posted a pair of encouraging efforts before that, including over C&D. However, his strike rate of 0-16 tempers enthusiasm somewhat.

Produced lesser efforts the last twice, and was always in rear over shorter at Chelmsford (6f; standard) last Sunday. Step back up in trip in his favour, and he is now 19lb below his last winning mark but needs to show more before he is trusted.

Admirably consistent of late and hasn't finished out of the placings in six of his last seven starts. Bumped into the in-form Suitcase 'N' Taxi the last twice, and has to have a big chance of regaining the winning thread now that rival is absent.

Narrowly behind Bee Machine when fourth over C&D last time out. 7lb better off with that rival now, so should really reverse the form. Last two career wins have been achieved over this C&D also which is another positive.

Handicap newcomer who steps up to 7f after being outpaced over 5f here last month. Could improve now entering this sphere, and he is respected for connections who are among the winners at present.

Fair to say for whatever reason, he has been majorly disappointing since entering the handicap sphere. Has failed to beat a single rival the last thrice, and this step back up to 7f will need to work miracles.

Good run of form (trio of runner-up efforts) came to an end when he was an underwhelming eighth at Kempton (7f; standard to slow) on Wednesday. Turned out quickly again and is a C&D winner so can't be fully discounted.

C&D winner who has been running exclusively over this C&D since August. Aggressive campaign doesn't really look to be showing any ill effects for all he can be a slightly inconsistent sort.

22-race maiden, but she has been running well lately since returning from a short break and now drops back to 7f after failing to stay the trip at Newcastle (1m4f; standard) last month. Place claims back on the AW.

0-7 on the AW and latest effort which came on turf was particularly concerning when he was tailed off at Yarmouth (7f; heavy). Ground couldn't have been a problem then as he has winning form on soft, so he has a bit to prove.

18lb below his last winning mark which was achieved at Yarmouth (7f; good to firm) back in May 2018. Not represented himself atrociously recently, but does need to step up on his latest eighth at Chelmsford (7f; standard).

Verdict

A number of contrasting profiles on show in this finale, with Strict and Ginger Max two of the less exposed types in the race. The former is given another chance after fluffing his lines after returning from a break. He previously looked the type to progress in handicaps, as does the latter who should find the step up to 7f more suitable on handicap debut. Regular course visitors Bee Machine and Fly True should be thereabouts. BREAK THE SILENCE has been unlucky to bump into the in-form Suitcase' N' Taxi the last twice. There doesn't look to be anything of that mould in this contest, so he can gain a deserved win after a string of consistent efforts.
  1. Break The Silence
  2. Ginger Max
  3. Strict
