Only beaten one rival in three starts to date and that came when 11th of 12 at Kempton (7f) in early October. Hard to see him getting involved.
Dubawi colt. Dam was a winner up to 1m4f and is a half-brother to 1m winner Rival Poet and full brother to 1m6f winner Magical Touch. Noteworthy newcomer.
Half-brother to some smart jumps horses and showed nice ability on debut when third of 13 at Doncaster (7f, heavy) last month. More improvement likely.
18,000 gns yearling by Cacique. Half-brother to up to 1m6f winner Garbanzo. Pedigree offers some hope so can't be discounted.
Too keen on debut and looked outpaced when 100/1 seventh at Newcastle (7f) just over two weeks ago. More needed on that evidence.
Didn't offer much on debut and followed that up with modest seventh at Brighton (7f, soft) last month. Looks an awkward sort and hard to judge.
Siyouni colt. Did well to finish where he did when not knocked about fourth at Wolverhampton (1m) 13 days ago. Sure to do better in time and from highly respected yard.
Cheaply-purchased sort. Slowly away and finished 10th in 7f minor event at Redcar in early October. Drastic improvement required.
Slade Power colt. Ran a fine race on debut over C&D to finish second last month. Will need to prove that isn't a fluke but holds claims.
Improving sort. Bettered debut effort to finish second at Bath (1m2f, soft) last time. Drop in trip not necessarily what is needed but respected.
40,000 gns yearling by Lawman. Half-brother to useful 1m2f performer Antonia De Vega and Dam is half-sister to classy Al Wukair. Considered.
Forecasts
French Asset (9/4), Salamanca School (3/1), Book Review (7/2), Camahawk (5/1), Phoenix Aquilus (14/1), Witch Hunt (16/1), Critique (16/1), Dreaming Blue (66/1), I'm Easy (100/1), Edebez (150/1), Abenakian (200/1)
CAMAHAWK exceeded expectations to finish third on his debut over an inadequate trip at Doncaster. And with the step up in trip set to suit and handling the testing ground conditions, he could prove to be hard to beat. Phoenix Aqullus ran a mighty race over C&D last time and will be the main danger if replicating that form. While Salamanca School may be able to make use of his stamina in these testing conditions but could find the trip on the sharp side.
- Camahawk
- Phoenix Aquilus
- Salamanca School
