Has not prevailed since he scored at Leopardstown (1m2f) in July 2017. Made a return to action last month after almost a year off the track when he finished ninth of 11 over this C&D. Should come on for that run but others are preferred.

Was successful twice earlier this summer, including at Leopardstown over this distance in July. Has been well down the field on his last two starts. Remains off the same mark as when he was 15th of 17 at Leopardstown (1m4f). Needs to bounce back.

Broke his maiden at the third attempt last time when he was successful at Cork (1m2f) in a 16 runner field. He made all of the running and was staying on strongly at the finish. Likely to produce more. Leading contender on his handicap debut.

Lightly-raced gelding who scored on the second start of his career at Chelmsford (1m) on the AW. Has been a long way down the field on his two appearances this year. Has been eased 2lb but he needs to produce much more.

On for a hat-trick here following success over this C&D and then at the Curragh (1m). Has gone up 8lb for his latest victory but she is a filly on the up. One to consider as she looks to continue her hot form.

His sole success came over this distance at Roscommon (1m2f) in August 2017. Has featured twice this year with his latest effort coming at Galway (1m½f) where he came home at the rear of nine runners. Needs to improve.

Remains a maiden after 14 starts. Finished third of eight last time at Leopardstown (1m). Shaped like this step up in distance will help. Has been eased 3lb in the weights. Has to be respected off this mark.

Scored on the second start of her career at Listowel (1m4f). Was unable to follow that up at Galway (1m4f) as she was 10th of 12 runners. Drops down 4lb in the weights. Not one to ignore as she remains open to improvement.

His only wub so far came at Salisbury (1m2f) in October 2017. He has fared well on both of his last two runs where he has finished second, with his latest outing coming in an 11 runner contest at Leopardstown (2m). Down in trip. Has each-way claims.

Was a winner at Ballinrobe (1m1½f) on her fourth start in what was a comfortable victory by 4½L. Has run modestly well in two outings since but without success, including last time over this C&D where she was third of 11. One for the shortlist.

Verdict

GENTILE BELLINI is making his handicap debut on the back of his impressive success over this distance at Cork where he made all in a big runner field. The colt is open to improvement given he has only appeared three times so he could be ahead of the handicapper here. Mother Vincent is bidding for her third straight success and if she does fail, she is still likely to be close by, while Xcite can fill the placings off this latest mark as she bids for the second win of her career.
  1. Gentile Bellini
  2. Mother Vincent
  3. Xcite
