Modest 85-rated handicapper for trainer Simon Crisford winning over this trip over 18 months ago. Last of 10 on stable debut last month and others look more appealing.
Won for the second time in his career deservedly landing a Curragh 1m handicap earlier this month off a 8lb lower mark on final start for trainer Sheila Lavery. Leading player.
Lightly raced in the last 18 months, winner of one of his 17 starts on the Flat. Entitled to need the run on return to action.
Off the mark for connections at Leopardstown in a 1m maiden when last seen 12 months ago. Best watched on return to action on handicap debut.
A worry that the excellent form from a busy summer campaign has started to evaporate of late following a couple of below-par starts at Tipperary and Leopardstown earlier this month. No surprise to see him bounce back to form.
Winner over C&D on soft ground in September off a 5lb lower mark. Beaten but not disgraced from her revised mark since and may have to settle for a minor role here.
Winner of two of his six starts over this trip, hitting the frame on a further couple of occasions. Remains in good form following a busy summer and one to consider once again.
Possibly flattered by his third of 11 beaten 5L at Tipperary earlier this month as the American Post gelding has shown little in the majority of starts over the summer.
Sole career win came on the AW at Dundalk in February. Ran well to finish third of 10 not beaten far on good ground at Naas when last seen in June. Capable of a big run.
Forecasts
Njord (9/4), Eastern Racer (10/3), Lightning Amber (7/1), Stormy Tale (8/1), Art Of America (8/1), Laethanta Saoire (9/1), Ideal Pal (10/1), Ontheiflist (16/1), Well Suited (33/1)
The son of Roderic O'Connor, NJORD was already running with great credit in a number of starts over the summer before winning for the second time this season, landing a Curragh handicap in fine style earlier this month. The three-year-old will take some beating on stable debut following a move to Jessica Harrington. The Micheal Mulvany pair of Ideal Pal and C&D winner Stormy Tale are capable of hitting the frame here while the solid and consistent Eastern Racer is no forlorn hope. The Dermot Weld-trained Lightning Amber could be interesting if the subject of market support.
- Njord
- Stormy Tale
- Eastern Racer
