Listed winner in his younger days but he has been dropping in the highs after two years without a win. Finished mid-division at York (7f, soft) last time but wasn't far away on his two preceding efforts and has the ability to win if on a going day.

Found Listed company beyond her last time but had been in good form before that all season, gaining a deserved win at Yarmouth (6f) three runs back. Back down in grade but is creeping up the handicap and might find a couple too good.

Hasn't won over this trip since 2015 and has been kept to 5f mostly. Won here four starts ago over the minimum trip but hasn't been in the same form since then and despite being just 1lb above that winning mark, there are concerns over this trip.

Made a winning debut at Newcastle (6f, Tapeta) 13 months ago and has finished second in all three runs since. Pulled too hard in a tactical affair at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) last time out but the promise of a stronger pace here will suit.

Hit and miss since joining this yard and has dropped 9lb in the handicap. Not beaten far at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) and Kempton (6f, Polytrack) recently and seemed to improve for the step back up to 7f when second here on Thursday.

Been highly tried several times but failed to take advantage of an ease in grade at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) 38 days ago. beating only one rival. Blinkers added for the first time and will need to made a big difference to jolt him back to life.

A prominent racer who ran well in defeat at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) last time. beaten just a length into fifth. Isn't overly exposed in comparison to most and has a chance if his jockey gets the fractions right.

Five wins this year, most recently over C&D two runs ago. Ran well to finish fifth at Kempton (6f, Polytrack) last time, beaten 1¼L. Up a total of 30lbs, however, for her winning spree and may well have reached the limits of her handicap mark.

Started the year rated 90 after two wins in 2018 but has only shown any form once in eight outings this year, back at Ripon (5f, soft) in June. Well beaten fifth of six at Bath last time and it's open to question whether he's trained on.

Had been running well this year, including when beaten ½L at Newmarket (in front of Spirit Of May) three starts ago. Excuses can made for his run four days later at Goodwood (6f, heavy) but hasn't shown his best in two AW runs, including last time.

Won easily by 4L over C&D last November and is still 2lb above that winning mark. Only three runs for this yard, two of which were perfectly creditable here (7f) and Kempton (7f, Polytrack) last time. Seems better on the AW and not without a squeak.

Form has an uneven look to it, going close at Doncaster (5f, good to soft) three runs back but didn't match that in both outings since. Well beaten in both races over 6f too so hard to assess given his inconsistency.

All three career wins have been at 5f; one here and the others at Southwell. Now 6lb below his last win but hasn't shaped as though his turn is near in recent starts on the Fibresand and this trip also brings more questions that answers.

Forecasts

Swiss Knight (2/1), Tommy Taylor (7/2), Promote (5/1), Uncle Jerry (7/1), Restless Rose (12/1), Fantastic Flyer (14/1), Spirit Of May (20/1), Vee Man Ten (20/1), Good Luck Fox (20/1), Alfie Solomons (25/1), You're Cool (33/1), Cent Flying (33/1), Sandridge Lad (50/1)

Verdict

In a field of mostly exposed handicappers, it's not hard to be positive about PROMOTE, who hasn't been out of the first two in four runs. This contest will suit better than a messy four-runner race at Yarmouth last time. Uncle Jerry has shown his best form on artificial surfaces and is C&D winner and is worthy of an each-way squeak from a good draw whilst fellow three-year-old Spirit Of May should give it good shot from front on a track that suits prominent racers.
