Lightly raced for two UK stables since leaving Ireland but proving inconsistent and needs to leave a poor AW run readily behind. Others preferred.

On a good mark at present and won on only previous heavy ground start. Unlucky late on when a very good third on recent reappearance and looks set for a big run.

Inconsistent five-race maiden makes both her handicap and turf debut. Improvement needed off this opening mark and conditions will be a big unknown.

Now 31lb below last win and on a long losing run. Handles soft ground but on a very poor run of form and easy to dismiss at present.

Returns from a spin over hurdles following a good run of form on the Flat with two wins and a second in between. Still on a workable mark and handles the conditions. One to consider.

Has taken a nice step forward in each of two starts since his debut and showed a good attitude in a narrow defeat latest. Handicapper has made life tough on handicap debut but only likely to improve.

Racing to a consistent standard and sole win so far came on soft ground. This trip may test him again in these conditions but not one to discount.

Left Stef Keniry for £20,000 after a progressive run of form. Still open to improvement and handles give underfoot. Needs more off 3lb higher mark but that's not out of the question.

Dual AW winner ran poorly in three previous turf starts, albeit on fast ground. Has shown improved form of late on fibresand which suggests these conditions are within his scope. Could be competitive.

Sole win came on the AW and tailed off the last twice in testing conditions, including following a gelding operation. Others look stronger candidates.

Ran to a consistent level in his first four starts and now returns from a break following wind surgery. Visor also added but he'll need to have found plenty of progress for the absence.

Verdict

WESTBROOK BERTIE is well handicapped, handles these tough conditions well and was unlucky when squeezed for room in what could have been a winning return to action last start. Matewan is a danger in an open contest and is on an upward curve. with the ground less of a likely factor than most. Harmonise is improving on the Flat and is another who won't mind the ground.
