Has an awkward wide draw fir his first handicap start having shown up well last time over C&D in a novice event (100-1; did best of those from off the pace). Showed enough promise to be of interest in this sphere although the mark isn't generous.

Ran poorly when last tried in a handicap (debut) on turf at Ffos Las but failed to do any better returned to novice company last time at Chester (7f). Now returned to nurseries trying 1m for the first time/AW for second time; others appeal more.

Well-backed (at long odds) when showing improved form to win over C&D on debut in this sphere (still went in snatches despite first-time blinkers). 5lb higher next time he ran poorly on Tapeta, the headgear not working this time around; drawn wide.

In good hands and ran her best race last time back on the AW over 7f here; expected to progress stepping up a furlong and into handicaps for the first time. Draw could have been a little kinder though but she should make her mark in handicaps soon.

Already had five chances in handicaps but remains a maiden (0-8) having looked a difficult customer on a few occasions. Didn't do much wrong last time on turf and has run his two best races on AW; visor goes on first-time; caution advised.

Beaten twice in nurseries (started favourite on each occasion) having gained what looks to be a workable mark. Pushed up 2lb for his runner-up effort here over 7f last time he looks as though a step up to 1m will suit; not one to give up on.

First run for this yard having run his best race last time out for former yard (Brian Ellison) at Musselburgh over 7f. Still to win a race he's pushed back up 3lb for his latest effort; tries 1m/Polytrack for the first time, bred to appreciate 1m.

Displayed mainly modest form until he showed more than previously last time out over 7f here at 40-1 (finished third) to a winner now rated 73. Quickly reassessed by the handicapper his mark still looks workable if he repeating that run.

Modest form in three attempts so far with his best run coming last time out when trying the AW (Tapeta) for the first time over 7f. Steps into handicap company for the first time upped to 1m; may do better but has something to prove.

Run with great credit since being stepped up in trip on the AW running her best race over the extended 1m at Wolverhampton last time (will stay further). Caught up in traffic last time, would benefit from a more positive ride from an inside berth.

Poor run last time when making her handicap debut encountering much softer ground than before and now makes her AW debut stepping up to 1m for the first time. May do better on this surface but has to prove herself at this trip.

Hardly short of experience but remains a nine-race maiden having been beaten six times so far in handicaps (has finished second last two starts). Reversed previous form with Hermano Bello last time; should go well with a positive ride from stall 4.

Beaten in a seller prior to having a wind op he failed to show any improvement for that procedure when well beaten behind two of today's rivals at Wolverhampton last time. Off a basement mark but hard to formulate a case for him being competitive.

Verdict

Quite a few that can be given a chance in a competitive nursery to open the eight-race card. The wide draw makes life difficult for handicap newcomer Pinatar who showed up well here last time and should make his mark in this sphere in the future with similar thoughts on Roger Charlton’s Liberty Filly, she looks the type to go well in nurseries with a kinder berth. Castel Angelo has also been posted a little wide having been a beaten favourite the last twice and the well-drawn pair of Treaty Of Dingle and GRACE PLUNKETT are preferred with the latter grabbing a narrow vote after her sound run last time. Mungo’s Quest is also worthy of a mention given his last run here.
  1. Grace Plunkett
  2. Treaty Of Dingle
  3. Mungo's Quest
