Yet to win beyond 1m4f, though hurdles form suggests he'll have every chance of staying this far on the level. Previous course winner, competitive but probably needing career-best best on these terms.
10-year-old but doesn't have big miles on the clock, runner up in previous two starts over 2m at Lingfield, slight drop in trip no concern and should be in firing line again despite inching up a pound in ratings.
Four wins from seven on the AW previously, all coming over 2m/2m½f, though nothing since January 2018. Yet to spark for new handler following 518-day absence but has slipped a long way down ratings if finding form upped in trip again.
Dual-purpose performer for Donald McCain, hasn't won since Windsor handicap (1m3½f, good to firm) in July 2018. Hurdles form poor before joining this yard, Bath run slightly better but unsure he wants this trip.
Filly remains a maiden after 12 attempts, hasn't gone closer than last time at Redcar (1m6f, good to firm) however and merits consideration now despite 3lb higher mark back on AW.
Went close in AW maidens over 7f, not really threatening in handicaps so far and must prove stamina for this trip. Mark is sliding though and no afterthought returning to the AW.
10-race maiden, she's threatened to breakthrough in handicaps at Lingfield and Newcastle (1m4f) when racing prominently. Goes up in distance and needs to find extra.
Veteran, better strike-rate on turf than he does on AW. Scored over this trip at Bath last month and asked a tough question back there since in Class 2 company. Just 2lb above winning mark now and worth considering.
Just three-years-old but profile is regressive after 10 runs. Ran with more purpose last month at Thirsk over 1m4f and eased 1lb now back on AW. Needs to bring something new to the party.
Four-race maiden, colt was never a threat on handicap bow at Kempton (1m3f) 12 days ago under a hold-up ride. Eased 3lb with first-time blinkers and up in trip, could be more to come now with Silvestre De Sousa booked.
Just three wins in 38 starts, the seller he landed here in June over 1m4f was a first success since 2017. Well held since and others are more likely in this field.
Good third in a handicap at Lingfield over 2m in August but that is an isolated effort in a disappointing year. Two more poor efforts since and 3lb 'wrong' on these terms.
Seven-race maiden for whom the switch to handicaps hasn't so far threatened a change in fortune. Weakened late on at Chelmsford last month when tackling this trip for the first time.
Forecasts
Red Secret (3/1), Tucson (11/2), Noble Behest (15/2), Bolt N Brown (8/1), Continuum (8/1), Alpasu (8/1), Reassurance (11/1), Blue Beirut (14/1), Affluence (14/1), Shovel It On (28/1), Filament Of Gold (50/1), Doctor Jazz (66/1), Guaracha (80/1)
Course winner Affluence is respected back on the Flat but faces a tough task giving away weight all round. Continuum went close last time at Lingfield and will be at home dropping slightly in trip while the veteran Filament Of Gold is inching towards a winnable mark again. RED SECRET never threatened on handicap bow at Kempton but there should be more to come from him with new headgear, a new trip and a positive booking in Silvestre De Sousa.
- Red Secret
- Filament Of Gold
- Continuum
