Won over 1m4f here in the summer and been very consistent since apart from when meeting soft ground at Haydock. Also struggled on soft in this 12 months ago so no doubt what the concern is.

Hat-trick seeker after 1m2f wins at Haydock (soft) and Pontefract (good to soft). Upped 4lb in this ultra-competitive contest but one for the shortlist nonetheless.

Seven-time winner but arrives on a 10-race losing streak and that coupled with some less than inspiring soft ground form suggests him one best left alone today.

Left two dismal last placed efforts behind when 100/1 10th of 30 in the Cambridgeshire latest. This less competitive than that too so potential to go well at a price again with big field clearly enjoyed.

Back to winning ways at Ayr last time out where he battled to success on soft ground. Must improve again with 5lb rise but both soft ground runs been positive so respected with similar going likely.

Knocking at the door of win number two until he got it in emphatic fashion at Musselburgh last time winning by 8L. Upped 11lb and never raced on soft before but profile too appealing to ignore.

Progressive four-year-old ran respectable over C&D last time following a win at Chelmsford. Must improve again to defy this mark but done little else this term; never raced on soft.

Below par last twice in competitive contests here and at Newmarket but been in sound form before that and seems to handle all ground which is a positive today.

Form fell off a cliff last summer and similar underwhelming run continued since joining this yard in 2019. Hard to fancy now.

Fallen to a mark 1lb lower than his C&D win a year ago in a winless 2019 and there were signs of a revival latest at Ayr. That said he's been withdrawn due to soft ground before so conditions not ideal if he lines up.

Sixth to classy fellow Godolphin colt Line Of Duty on debut and since won on AW at Chelmsford and on soft at Nottingham. Anyone's guess how good he is and looks the one open to most improvement for yard in incredible form.

13th time lucky this season at Musselburgh two starts back but well held since at Ayr and Ripon and doubt he's well enough handicapped for this.

Lightly raced this term but won first time out over this trip at Haydock on soft and ran well in only subsequent start at Thirsk when second over 1m. Will absolutely relish today's conditions and clearly best when fresh; big player.

Ground versatile sort won here over 1m1f on good to soft earlier in the season and ran best race since to be second over C&D penultimately. Below that at Ayr but strong suspicion now is that he is better here than anywhere else; respected.

Soft ground C&D winner three back and ran another cracker latest when second of 12 at Ayr. Gets another weight hike for her troubles but with conditions ideal she has to enter calculations.

Set some stiff tasks but winless since his success on debut at Chelmsford. Lost way a little of late so hood tried but safer options in the 20-strong field.

25/1 Redcar win latest well and truly came out of the blue. Now has to prove he can back the effort up but with very different and probably unideal going that looks doubtful.

Verdict

In a wide open contest the one who could be well in is three-year-old DUBAI ICON and having won two out of three including on soft he is taken to continue the fine run of form for Saeed Bin Suroor in the hands of Josephine Gordon. There are plenty of others with chances but focussing on those likely to relish the conditions primarily the most feared rivals are Lord Of The Rock and Poet's Dawn.
