First try on this surface but the sire gives a clear clue that he should be able to act on the surface. Very consistent on turf since joining this yard he again ran well last time without being ideally placed; good chance of breaking his maiden.
One of several Fibresand newcomers; this one has won twice on turf for the yard this year although he does have his quirks which don't always allow him to give his running. Comes here on the back of a poor run in a 1m Redcar seller.
Some fair form in Ireland when with John Oxx including one start on the AW. Ran a fair race on his first/only start for this yard (hooded first-time) at Chepstow (slow away); just second run in a handicap, first run on Fibresand, of some interest.
Confirmed the promise of his previous start when recording his first win in over a year at Kempton last time. Well suited by a well-run race at this trip (all his wins have come at 1m); ran here once before, appeared to handle the surface well.
Only two career wins have come over C&D (2-2) although he's rather struggled for form since he was last seen winning here on turf and other synthetics. Fallen back below his last winning mark, possible he could revive on Fibresand.
Needs very little introduction on Fibresand with five C&D wins to his name the latest coming when reequipped with blinkers and aided by an ease in the weights. Upped 8lb for a rollicking 5L win he's on a mark he may find it tough to win off.
On a long streak that is starting to mount although he did give notice of a return to form with a second at Chelmsford last time rather out of the blue. Undeniably on a good mark (last win off 77) if he can handle his first try on Fibresand.
Quirky sort who tends to hang (one to treat with caution); made hard work of his handicap debut at Epsom last time. Yet to race on any AW surface her pedigree suggests that she should be at home here; other factors are slightly off putting.
Four times a course winner with two of those victories coming at this trip; struggling for form a little at the moment but hard to rule out on her return to this surface. Fallen just below her last winning mark; hard to dismiss from calculations.
Fibresand newcomer who has yet to fire in four starts for this yard since arriving from Marcus Tregoning for whom he won an AW maiden (7f). Hard to build a case for a him based on the evidence so far; best watched on this occasion.
Took advantage of a career-low mark when claimer ridden in first-time cheekpieces at Wolverhampton, proving her stamina for this trip. Having the run of the race plus a career-low mark also helping; shown an aptitude for Fibresand on a prior start.
Failed to complete his hat-trick at Carlisle last time having been victorious at the same track and Pontefract; just too aggressively ridden last time. Sort to win again although this will be his Fibresand debut; pedigree suggests he'll act on it.
In a good spell at the moment having taken well to cheekpieces, winning when they were first applied for his win at Wolverhampton (off a 6lb lower mark). Showed that he could cope off this mark last time; needs to prove himself on Fibresand.
Three-time course winner but all at shorter trips (0-12 over C&D); comes here seeking a hat-trick having burst back to life twice over 7f here recently. No doubt that he's in good form but does have to prove himself over this trip and off this mark.
Forecasts
Elhafei (7/2), Makambe (5/1), Muqarred (15/2), Dreamseller (8/1), Love Your Work (10/1), Break The Silence (10/1), Bond Angel (10/1), My Amigo (12/1), Dawn Breaking (12/1), Watheer (16/1), French Twist (20/1), Snow Ocean (20/1), Ambersand (33/1), Thornaby Nash (50/1)
A competitive end to the card made more complex for backers by the fact that many of the leading players are making their first start on this unique surface. Of that group the well handicapped My Amigo ought to be of interest along with the likes of hat-trick seeking Dawn Breaking and Dreamseller. Bond Angel and Muqarred have nine course wins between them so its hard to ignore the pair although the former hasn’t quite fired of late and this mark may prove a test for the latter. Elhafei is another never to have run here before but his pedigree suggests the surface will be no problem, he represents the biggest challenge to the FRENCH TWIST who looks an improver based on her Wolverhampton win.
- French Twist
- Elhafei
