C&D who last won at Redcar in June. Not in the best form since then, including eighth of nine at Catterick (5f) last month and plenty to do off top weight.
Notched victory at Catterick (5f) in September but below-par sixth at Hamilton (5f) later that month. Now proving to br an inconsistent sort.
C&D winner in the past who ran career-best to land 5f Wolverhampton handicap in late September. Enagaged to run their the night before this but should post another bold account.
Still a maiden after 17 runs and took a backward step when ninth at Redcar (5f) a week ago. Off the same mark in this which makes things tough but the visor is back on.
Losing streak now stands at 14 but showed encouraging signs when never nearer fifth at Kempton (7f) over two weeks ago. Back down in trip for this and can be in the mix.
Poor effort at Yarmouth two starts ago was firmly banished when third of 13 in 5f Musselburgh handicap in mid-September. Solid claims if backing up that effort.
C&D winner in the past but out of sorts recently and was a distant 11 over C&D two weeks ago. Makes limited appeal.
Nottingham winner three starts ago and been running okay since, including keeping-on sixth at Musselburgh (5f) two days ago. Claims if quick turnaround doesn't hinder chances.
Winner of Beverley seller in May and running well recently, including second of eight at Salisbury (6f) in August. Makes tapeta debut and looks well placed.
Thrice-raced maiden. Hood seemed to work when third of six in minor C&D event last time out. Given workable handicap mark and of interest on debut in this sphere.
Course winner who looked out of touch before good fourth in C&D handicap 12 days ago. More needed but entirely capable of building on that.
regressive sort and looked flattered once again when 7L fourth in minor C&D event recently. Very difficult to see him landing a blow.
C&D winner in the past but losing record dates back to 2017. Bounced back to a good level when third at Catterick (5f) on last start and claims if the race is run to a strong pace.
Record now stands at 0-18 but took form to a new level when second of 12 at Catterick (5f, good to firm) at the start of August. Blinkers on first time and entitled to respect.
Forecasts
One One Seven (11/4), Bithiah (7/1), Paco Escostar (15/2), Rockley Point (9/1), Independence Day (9/1), Arnoul Of Metz (11/1), Young Tiger (16/1), One Boy (16/1), Cuppacoco (18/1), Carlovian (22/1), Tizwotitiz (22/1), Maid From The Mist (28/1), Rangefield Express (33/1), Kibaar (40/1)
A race in which it may pay dividends being towards the bottom of the handicap, preference is for MAID FROM THE MIST, who hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper for her recent efforts and on the basis of her Salisbury second, still has more to offer in time. She looks to be well placed against some regressive rivals. Plenty enter place calculations, including One Boy who was hampered by the soft ground slightly at Musselburgh and should take to tapeta, while the likes of Independence Day and Arnoul Of Metz usually run to their marks, with the previous mentioned runner looking in need of a speed test on his most recent effort.
- Maid From The Mist
- One Boy
- Independence Day
