Only 2yo debutant winner for the stable this year which marks him down as useful; overcame inexperience to win well at Carlisle over 6f. Form of that contest has been well advertised and looks strong; open to further progress under a penalty.

Confirmed the promise that he showed on his debut when landing the odds at Nottingham over 6f. Failed to meet market expectations when failing at odds-on over 7f last time (July); may well benefit from the break/return to 6f; provides main danger.
Yard quiet on the 2yo front this year (0-4 with newcomers); €21,000 Breeze-Up purchase, half-brother to 6f 2yo winner Fognini, dam placed at up to 1m1f. Faces a fairly stiff task on debut, best watched given the scenario he's given.
Just the one 2yo winner from the yard this year (1-11) with this one showing some ability on his debut but looking one for later on. Finished midfield (7f) on his debut, now drops back to 6f, looks one for handicaps later on.

Newcomer; half-brother to winners Dance Alone (5f-1m) and Conga (6f 2yo); dam, 6f winner, half-sister to very smart 6f-1m winner Gift Horse. Yard not quite as active with 2yo as usual (12% strike-rate), 6-50 with debutantes, strong support needed.
Gelded for his debut he showed very little after being slowly away at Redcar in a 6f seller. Unlikely to improve sufficiently to make anything but minimal impact here from a yard that devoid of 2yo winner in the last five seasons.

Debutant from a yard that are 0-11 with their 2yo newcomers in the past five seasons. Half-brother to 6f AW winner Bold Max; dam 5f AW winner. Hard to think that he would be anywhere good enough to make an impression.

One of two runners in the contest for the yard with this one now looking for a handicap mark on the back of two average starts over 7f. Spared a hard time on his last start he will be of more interest with a mark in handicaps.
Casamento filly who makes her debut for a yard who are 1-84 with their newcomers (last five years), 0-12 this year. Half-sister to three winners including useful 5f sprinter Bowson Fred; dam Group-placed 5f 2yo winner. Support needed to interest.

Forecasts

Lampang (10/11), Be Prepared (6/5), Findhorn (11/2), Quercus (18/1), Fansurper (25/1), The Last Bow (33/1), Clotherholme (40/1), Masham Moor (66/1), Intrinsic Bond (150/1)

Verdict

This looks as though it boils down to a head-to-head between the two previous winners LAMPANG and Be Prepared. The former was a rare first-time out winner for trainer Tim Easterby the yard’s only debutant winner this year and runners of that ilk from the yard tend to be useful despite having to cope with a 7lb penalty in different conditions faced in his win. The latter returns from a break having failed at odds-on last time after his Nottingham win, the absence may have revived him with a return to 6f also in his favour. None of the others to have run looks out of the ordinary and Kevin Ryan’s newcomer Findhorn is selected for the minor berth.
