Sixth in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood (5f) in July, and has his sights lowered considerably for AW debut after finishing fifth of six to Praxeology in a Cl 3 Chester nursery (5f, good); strong claims.

Previous AW form reads 112 (this will be her first ever visit to Chelmsford); front-runner who was nailed late on by Moon Of Love at Wolverhampton (5f) on her most recent start.

Equiano gelding from a 5f winning dam; hasn't managed to beat a single rival in two starts (5f-6f) spread over a period of three months; impossible to fancy on AW debut.

£55,000 yearling; sixth foal; brother to the 5f winner Jebediah Shine, and a half-brother to the 7f AW scorers Lucky Louie and Mrs Teasdale; withdrawn at Lingfield on 5th September.

9/1
Dutch Art filly from a 6f winning dam; 16-1 when a weakening eighth of 15 to Wejdan at Newbury (6f, good) seven weeks ago; likely to be wiser for that initial racecourse experience and could appreciate this drop back in trip.

Horse silk
50/1
Requinto filly; 33-1 when struggling to make much of an impression on debut at Lingfield (5f, good to firm) 19 days ago; needs to do much better in order to be positively involved.

20/1
Beaten 7L (third) by Cool Sphere on debut at Lingfield (5f) last month, undeniably out-running her 40-1 odds; less effective on her next start and could be simply awaiting the switch to handicap company.

Horse silk
4/1
170,000gns yearling; fifth foal; half-sister to three winners, including Tourny (5f-6f inc Grp 3); weakening fifth on debut at Haydock (6f, soft) earlier this month; that run strongly implied that a fair degree of ability lies within; of interest.

25/1
2,000gns yearling; fourth foal; closely related to the Greek 5½f winner Warm Words; will need to be forward in order to make a winning debut; others readily preferred.

Forecasts

Raahy (1/1), Electric Ladyland (7/2), Magical Moment (4/1), Catechism (9/1), Rathagan (14/1), Lady Phyllis (20/1), Tiger Balm (25/1), Falacho (50/1), Littlemissattitude (50/1), Dark Side Prince (100/1)

Verdict

The likes of the eased-in-grade Raahy and the very speedy Electric Ladyland bring a solid level of form to the table and are undoubtedly deserving of their respective places towards the top end of the market. However, it could pay to take a slight chance on the Kevin Ryan-trained MAGICAL MOMENT. She is well-related, cost 170,000gns as a yearling and displayed plenty of promise (along with some rough edges) on debut at Haydock (6f) earlier this month.
  1. Magical Moment
  2. Raahy
  3. Electric Ladyland
