Arrives in good form, having won on the AW last time out. Only has the one turf win to her name, but that was on fast ground and over a similar trip to this. 3lb rise means she has a career-high mark to contend with, but that may not stop her.
Behind Champarisi at Wolverhampton last time, and now 4lb better off with her for just over 3L. Has to come into the reckoning on that basis, and won this race last year when 2lb lower. Claims.
Prolific winner who goes well here, having won twice over C&D and three times over 1m4f at the track, most recently in July, when 2lb lower. A sound/fast surface suits, and if he can shrug off a poor latest run, he has claims.
AW winner over an extended 1m4f when with Henry Spiller. Well beaten over C&D recently on stable debut, which came after a seven-month break. 2lb drop here, and unexposed, so would be interesting if market vibes are good.
Multiple winner who has not been easy to catch right this season. Scored at Ripon last month, when 1lb lower, but well beaten on both starts since. Has run well over C&D before, but much more needed than those two recent efforts.
Earned back-to-back wins at Pontefract and Bath earlier in the season, the latter over a similar trip (firm) and from 1lb lower. Respectable effort at Chelmsford last time, and blinkers now swapped for visor (won in first-time blinkers). Considered.
Arrives seeking a hat-trick after wins in this code at Thirsk (1m4f, soft) and then over hurdles. Up 4lb for the return to this sphere, and while this is a tougher race and over further, he is not ruled out.
Six-race maiden who stays this trip, acts on fast ground and has enough form on the board to suggest that he could be a player from today's mark, if the first-time visor helps.
Forecasts
Mister Chiang (11/4), L'Un Deux Trois (7/2), Champarisi (4/1), Trouble And Strife (4/1), Near Kettering (13/2), Stormin Tom (22/1), Be Perfect (25/1), Kyoto Star (33/1)
A tough race to call. Near Kettering is in cracking form, but takes on tougher rivals in his hat-trick bid, one of those being MISTER CHIANG, who is on a very competitive mark and has conditions and trip to suit. Trouble And Strife is feared, along with Champarisi, and there should be little to choose between that pair on these terms. L'Un Deux Trois could also come into this, while Be Perfect loves it here and is another potential danger.
- Mister Chiang
- Be Perfect
- Trouble And Strife
