Best on AW these days as win at Chelmsford in May showed. Prepared to forgive his latest effort on turf so has possibilities on surface which suits well.

Second race on Fibresand for this maiden of eight whose best form to date has all come on AW. Generally thereabouts on all four starts on synthetics so last race is best ignored now back here where she has each-way prospects.

Recent race; her first in 21 months saw her a well beaten eighth of nine. Entitled to have needed the run but still comes with plenty of risks here.

Dual winner this season and despite advancing years well capable of taking a hand here after meritorious efforts the last twice at Thirsk (fourth of 17 and fifth of 15).

Fibresand debut for this three-year-old who won at Redcar in July. Two efforts since far from disappointing and could very easily go close if as effective on this surface.

Winner at Hamilton in June has run soundly enough since without quite hitting the frame. 1lb lower than when fifth here over 7f last time in a similar contest which accurately reveals her prospects.

Just one win from 32 starts which came during a consistent run at the beginning of the year. Best effort for a while at Chepstow latest and hard to completely dismiss off this sort of mark.

Sill a maiden after 17 races. He was not too far away two starts back at Chepstow (7f) when he finished sixth of 14. Was down the field last time at Lingfield (7f). Needs to produce more to gain opening success.

In decent form earlier this season including when runner-up over 5f at Beverley (soft) in June. Well beaten in three subsequent starts however and even latest fifth which was better leaves him a bit to find.

Two wins in 2018 but form this year has been below that level and recent efforts haven't suggested a return to winning form is imminent.

Ten-race maiden who is yet to post a noteworthy effort; steps back to 6f but rates as nigh impossible to make any sort of reasoned argument for; look elsewhere with confidence.

Forecasts

Catapult (3/1), Space War (4/1), Grimsdyke (4/1), Gorgeous General (9/2), Queen Of Kalahari (11/2), Tease Maid (7/1), Reshaan (8/1), Twilighting (10/1), Billyoakes (14/1), Mad Endeavour (14/1), Pearl Noir (20/1), Mitchum (33/1), Bevsboy (40/1), Mysterious Look (50/1)

Verdict

In a race lacking strength in depth consistent sort GORGEOUS GENERAL should make a bold bid and any improvement at all for the addition of blinkers would make him hard to beat with his bare form already as good as anything on offer. Three-year-old Tease Maid has threatened to strike on AW a few times and she should also go well. Disappointing sort Twilighting is the sort to pop up some time soon.
  1. Gorgeous General
  2. Tease Maid
  3. Twilighting
