Regularly in the thick of the action over 6f earlier in the year, namely when runner-up to Ninjago in a selling handicap at Thirsk in June; it's debatable as to how he'll handle this shorter trip; is also declared at Lingfield (5.00pm) on Wednesday.

Has returned to form since joining Adrian Wintle (321); carries a 5lb penalty for last week's narrow Bath success; Finley Marsh unsurprisingly retains the ride; definite contender.

In a rich vein of form in recent weeks, adding a third win in four starts on the Polytrack at Lingfield latest; she was all out on that occasion and carries 5lb extra here; rain would temper enthusiasm a fraction.

C&D winner 12 months ago; also raced prominently throughout when a close-up third here recently (Spot Lite second); could potentially have a major say if allowed a soft lead in newly applied cheekpieces; stablemate of Celerity.

Without a win since June 2018 (Bath), but has consistently knocked at the door in recent appearances; has related form with Brandy Station and ran well (third) in a very similar contest at Chepstow last week.

76-race maiden; has run respectably on soft ground at Haydock on a couple of occasions during the summer; stablemate Brandy Station rates as a more reliable option.

Forecasts

Tawaafoq (2/1), Spot Lite (3/1), Brandy Station (10/3), Brockey Rise (5/1), Aquadabra (6/1), Celerity (16/1)

Verdict

A small field which features a number of in-form horses, so potentially not the easiest of races to solve. Tawaafoq (Bath) and Aquadabra (Lingfield) both carry 5lb penalties for recent wins and it wouldn't be a major surprise if either doubled up, while Spot Lite is regularly on the premises without winning races. However, for small stakes we'll chance the C&D winner BRANDY STATION who is all about an initial early burst of speed. The addition of newly applied cheekpieces, coupled with the distinct possibility of a soft early lead could feasibly see him sneak home.
  1. Brandy Station
  2. Tawaafoq
  3. Aquadabra
