Requinto filly (£55,000 yearling); has twice lost little in defeat on the AW at Wolverhampton (5f-6f); on nursery debut appears to be very closely matched with Endless Joy.
Twice a beaten favourite in early season maidens (for fillies); caught for second on the post by today's rival Dana Forever on return to the track at Wolverhampton (6f) 17 days ago.
35,000gns yearling; hasn't really kicked on since a promising York debut third to War Storm; that said, he hasn't exactly regressed either and could feasibly discover his niche now introduced to handicapping.
5f Nottingham scorer (soft) in May; back marker in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury in July and also failed to make a positive impression on nursery debut; eased 3lb accordingly; look elsewhere.
Made all to win a Ripon seller by 6L in July and near enough that level of form in more competitive races since, including when placed behind a stablemate of Jump The Gun here (5f) 16 days ago; sports an added hood.
Had a couple of subsequent winners (fourth and sixth) in behind when breaking her duck at Newbury (6f, good to soft) in June; weakened late on faster ground at Ascot subsequently; could plausibly figure in the shake-up with rain in the forecast.
Kept busy this season by Dave Evans (also saddles Isobar Wind); is yet to make her mark in nurseries but the forecast rain could potentially boost her chance - runner-up in York's Rous Selling Stakes in June (on soft).
Forecasts
Dana Forever (15/8), Endless Joy (5/2), Jump The Gun (11/4), Twice As Likely (7/1), Isobar Wind (10/1), Lili Wen Fach (20/1), Daddies Diva (33/1)
A trappy opener in which a strong opinion certainly isn't forthcoming. The handicapper possibly has a fair line into the likely abilities of Dana Forever and Endless Joy on the basis of their recent Wolverhampton clash, with neither appearing to be obviously well handicapped. Therefore, with some rain in the forecast ahead of racing we'll take a chance on the Richard Hughes-trained filly TWICE AS LIKELY. Although arguably a shade disappointing at Ascot eight weeks ago (fourth) the good to firm ground mightn't have ideally suited, and her earlier winning form (Newbury) reads well in the context of this particular nursery.
- Twice As Likely
- Jump The Gun
- Dana Forever
