Only one in this field to have actually won a race, and he is now back down to the mark he scored off after a string of lesser efforts over the last couple of month. Just behind Powerage at Lingfield last week.

Posted a pair of encouraging efforts the last twice since switched to handicap company, including when fifth in a fair race for the grade last time. Makes turf debut, and would only need to improve just a little bit to get involved. Player.

Looked regressive the last twice, and hasn't been able to show any sign of life for the switch of stables. Trailed in last of six at Salisbury (7f; soft) last week and is excruciatingly hard to make a case for.

Stepped up in trip on handicap debut at Yarmouth (1m1f; good to firm) when beaten quite a long way. This is a similar race in terms of strength, and so he must be opposed on all he has shown so far.

Handicap newcomer who is making her turf debut after competing exclusively on the AW at Wolverhampton (6f/7f; standard). Hard to know what to expect after she showed very little in a trio of maidens. Should handle this ground.

Been in better form the last twice with a promising runner-up effort at Leicester (1m2f; heavy) which was followed by him just missing out on the placings at Ffos Las(1m4f; good to soft). Now drops back in trip though so has a little bit to prove.

0-12 & behind Powerage & So Claire last time at Lingfield. Highly unlikely she will cause the leading contenders any trouble on that basis. In and out of form since switching to handicaps.

Has proved to be underhwelmng since switched to handicaps. Has work to do to reverse the form with Powerage from their encounter at Lingfield (7f; standard) recently, where she finished just over eight-lengths behind that horse. Readily opposed.

Achieved a career best when making the frame to finish third at Lingfield (7f; standard). That was a marked step up on her previous showings, which would give her strong claims if she is able to build upon that effort.

Impossible to fancy. Dropped into a seller recently at Leicester (7f; good to soft) and was well-beaten into fifth. Now steps up in trip to 1m for the first time, but hasn't show a thing in six career starts.

Unexposed and made an encouraging handicap debut at Bath (1m; good to firm) when stepped up to this trip for the first time. Should have more to offer, and is a genuine player in what is a very weak race.

Standout run on his CV came at this track over 7f in June. Not as good since, including when seventh here last month. Major improvement required on the evidence of recent showings, and a watching brief is advised for now.

Drops back in trip to 1m after going up in distance at Yarmouth (1m2f; good to firm) last time. Ran better than the bare result suggests on only attempt at this trip when seventh at Hamilton (1m; good). That offers some hope.

Verdict

Recent winning form is incredibly hard to come by in this field, though Orliko did gain a first career success back in June. He was behind Powerage last time out though, who holds a stronger chance after taking a sizeable step forward to improve on her previous efforts when third at Lingfield. The Richard Hughes-trained Charlie Arthur also holds claims on this turf debut after running well in behind a couple of well-treated sorts at Wolverhampton. The vote goes to FORTHWITH though, who gets in here off a nice weight and showed evident improvement for the switch to handicaps when fourth at Bath. That offered plenty of encouragement for the future & he is unexposed.
  1. Forthwith
  2. Powerage
