Looked fair prospect winning second career start over C&D in December and ran well enough when runner-up on first start back at Chelmsford in April. Appeared not to stay a mile last time so drop back makes sense and should go well.
Won over C&D in April off 3lb lower mark and twice ran well at this trip in June prior to last two efforts over the mile. under inexperienced rider Senior jockey back on board now and may not be at all far away.
C&D novice winner last October and went close here time after under a penalty. Hasn't shone in three turf starts so far this term but is interesting back here and a bold show wouldn't surprise.
Bang in-form filly who completed 6f handicap hat-trick when scoring at Leicester a fortnight ago. Steps up to 7f for the first time and has to prove she can stay off 3lb higher mark, but clearly in great heart at the moment.
C&D winner on debut in December and followed up at Wolverhampton. Absent four months and has run two poor races since, including on handicap bow in first-time blinkers at Wetherby in May. Plenty to prove at present.
Promise on both starts last year, including when beaten favourite and third over C&D in November. Poor last of five on only start this term at Goodwood and returns having been gelded with a bit to prove on handicap bow.
Won 7f juvenile events at Newmakret and Epsom last season but has really struggled all three starts this term in handicaps. Eased 4lb since last poor run at HQ and wears first-time cheekpieces. Hard to enthuse over in current form.
Nicely bred Dansili filly but still a maiden after six starts. Second three times though, including in Chelmsford maiden last month. Runs off same mark and went closest on only previous visit here when beaten a neck last October.
Off the mark over a mile at Leicester in May and not for the first time appeared to run out of puff over 1m2f most recent run. Strong pace would suit back at this trip having never run at less than a mile before.
13-race maiden but has placed seven times. Ran well over 5f here on second start in April last year and only narrowly failed at Newbury last month over this trip. Didn't stay the mile there last time out.
Forecasts
Carnival Rose (3/1), Dubrava (4/1), Balata Bay (5/1), Alicia Darcy (9/1), Amorously (10/1), Airwaves (10/1), Indian Viceroy (11/1), Deference (12/1), Spencers Son (12/1), John Betjeman (20/1)
A very trappy getting out stakes and marginal preference is for top weight CARNIVAL ROSE who will be suited by coming back to seven furlongs. Alicia Darcy steps up to this trip in search of the four-timer and may not be far away, and Spencers Son may run better than his form figures suggests having gone well here in the past. John Betjeman and Dubrava are others with claims if things drop their way.
- Carnival Rose
- John Betjeman
- Spencers Son
