Hurdling recently but won on the Flat on his second start at Carlisle last August. Beaten since but worth a check in the market with the gelding finishing down the field in this contest 12 months ago and is likely to improve on that.

Off the mark for connections at the ninth time of asking over this trip in a Clonmel handicap in April off a 12lb lower mark. Life more difficult under a penalty and liable to find a couple stronger in this contest.

Off the mark at the 10th attempt for Mark Johnston at the back end of 2018. Well held in a couple of starts for current connections and will need to raise overall profile to play a role here.

Verdict

It could turn out to be a battle between the Willie Mullins pair with preference for the recent Bellewstown second EIGHT AND BOB. The six-year-old can get the better of his stablemate Scaglietti who is closely related to connections' Ebor winner Sesenta. A couple that could go well at a price in the closing race of day three are Curragh fourth Abraham, the Gordon Elliott-trained Falak and Camlann for J J Hanlon who appeared on three occasions at this meeting 12 months ago.
