Starspangledbanner half-brother to useful winners Melbourne Memories and Corazon Espinado. Looked professional when winning a 6f maiden at Windsor last month, but should still progress, and has leading claims under a penalty.
Better effort to date when sixth of 11 to Old News in a 6f novice at Windsor last time, and he ought to keep progressing with experience, for all he'll probably need a drop in class to be competitive.
Well-bred colt who cost 140,000 gns, but looked very green when 7¼ lengths seventh of 8 to Gobi Sunset on debut at Ayr. Given time to progress, and better expected now.
Power half-brother to smart 5f-7f winner Squats and 1m½f winner Angel Grace out of a half-sister to dual Cesarewitch winner Aaim To Prosper. May need a stiffer test, and unlikely to be fully tuned up for this debut.
Homebred colt whose dam was a 5-time winner for connections. Not knocked about when 3L sixth of 10 to Aussie Showstopper in a 6f novice at Kempton on debut, and type to do a fair bit better. One to note.
Cheaply purchased Mayson colt out of a mare related to several speedy types including Baileys Mistress. Stable not known for its juveniles.
Forecasts
Amazing Knight (1/2), Striding Edge (3/1), Cotai Again (9/1), Island Warrior (18/1), Boy George (40/1), Tigerten (40/1), Wrath Of Hector (250/1)
KNIGHT SHIELD has to defy a penalty, but he made a good impression when winning on debut, and it's hard to oppose him with any confidence in this field. Striding Edge could be a lot better than he showed on debut, and this well-bred colt is the one who could shake the selection up, with Cotai Again another who should prove a fair bit better than he could show on debut.
