Made a respectable start to life at new stable, winning at Thirsk in May and most recently finished second of 20 in competitive 7f handicap at York. Only raised 1lb for that effort and leading contender on form. Weight could be an issue though.

Has run creditably in stronger handicaps this season without troubling the judge, including when close-up sixth in 1m Salisbury handicap on latest start. Now 6lb below last winning mark and place claims if replicating this season's form.

On a fine run of form, winning his last four starts, including when switching back to the turf at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) in May. Only raised 3lb for that effort and no reason why he can't continue his sequence here. The one to beat.

Consistent without winning this season but weight looked to take its toll when seventh of 12 at Epsom (7f, good) on Derby weekend. Given some respite by the handicapper and has been dropped 1lb. Worth a market check.

Uninspiring runs in four starts since switching to this yard from France and was last seen finishing a distant ninth of 10 at Ayr (5f, good). Did win debut over 7f but this looks to be a tough ask. Others preferred.

Has failed to show his early season progression in last four starts, the last two of those being heavy defeats at Goodwood and Newcastle (6f, standard to slow) last month. Has a sprinting pedigree and is 0-3 over 7f. Place claims at best.

C&D winner nearly two years ago but never been in contention in three starts this season, including when fifth of eight at Goodwood (7f, good to soft) last time. Tumbling down the handicap offers some hope but must step up on form.

Hasn't won in Britain and is now 0-9 for this trainer. Unable to replicate some creditable efforts when tenth in 1m Carlisle handicap last time out. This looks to be a deeper race and likely to be outclassed by other horses.

Four-race maiden who looked in need of the run last time out in 6f Salisbury maiden on seasonal reappearance. Will appreciate the step back up to 7f and strong pedigree suggests he'll stay further. Interesting on handicap debut.

Showed signs of a form revival when third in 1m Newmarket fillies handicap last month after some inconsistent efforts previously. Was still well held that day and looks to be hard to trust. Others preferred.

Verdict

A strong-looking handicap contest for this level, the preference is for GLENN COCO, who has been in marvellous form this season and looks to be one stage ahead of the handicapper at the moment. It would be no shock to see him register a five-timer. Monseuir Noir makes his debut in this company and could provide a stern challenge for a trainer looking to exploit his handicap mark, while Wahash has been running respectably in tougher races this season and may appreciate the drop in grade.
