Racked up a four-timer on the AW prior to disappointing at Windsor last time, but was better than the bare result there, and folly to assume that the assessor is now in charge.
Lost his way for Bill Turner, but was revived on first start for new yard when second over 7f here (soft) last month. Handles faster ground, but well held on his only previous try at a mile, which is a worry.
Reliable sort who matched the pick of his recent efforts when third of 18 to Swift Approval over 7f here last time. Didn't appear to stay 1m when last tried, but worth another chance to prove that impression wrong.
Won a nursery at Kempton in November, and didn't need to improve on his AW form when scoring over an extended 1m in novice company at Nottingham in May, although did show a good attitude. Unexposed on this surface, and one to bear in mind.
Seven-race maiden with a number of near misses in handicaps at up to 1m. Excuses when below form over further on soft ground at Leicester last time, and comes into the equation on earlier efforts.
Promise on first three starts last year, and while she failed to improve for the switch to nurseries at Doncaster in October, she remains unexposed, and isn't one to write off.
Won a weak Brighton maiden by 16L last summer, and again showed her ability to handle easy ground when 2L third of 11 to Global Destination in a 7f handicap here last time. Longer trip fine, but must show she can be as effective on quicker going.
Placed in a couple of AW nurseries at the backend of 2018, and better signs on turf off reduced mark when a staying-on fourth at Windsor last time. More needed to be competitive here, however.
Rather patchy form to date, but fared better when 1¼L fourth of 9 to Edmond Dantes in an apprentice handicap at Goodwood last month, albeit helped by setting a modest pace. Needs to build on that.

Forecasts
Canal Rocks (7/2), Mandocello (9/2), Rambaldi (6/1), Balata Bay (6/1), Quarry Beach (13/2), John Betjeman (13/2), Trelinney (7/1), Rosamour (8/1), Capofaro (12/1), Elegant Love (20/1), Ardimento (20/1)
It's very hard to ignore the claims of MANDOCELLO after his Windsor win was boosted by the runner-up, and in a race where most have a bit to prove, his claims are strikingly obvious. Rambaldi has a stiffer task than when winning an ordinary novice at Nottingham last time, but he overcame some difficulty there and showed a good attitude under pressure, so appears one to take seriously, as does Capofaro, who did a bit too much on the front end at Windsor last time, and is better than the form would suggest.
- Mandocello
- Rambaldi
- Capofaro
