12-race maiden; was tried in cheekpieces (retained) when finishing ninth of 19 to Haqeeba at Navan (5f, good to firm) in May; is plenty lower in the weights than on her previous visit to Scotland (Ayr) last summer; monitor.
A regular AW scorer (eight wins), but yet to force his head to the front on turf (0-26); this race represents a much more realistic assignment than at Chester (Class 4) latest.
Both of his wins have come on Fibresand at Southwell (5f), was soon beaten in a C&D selling handicap last week; easily opposed.
Irish nursery winner for Johnny Murtagh (Sept 2018); is steadily finding her feet for Roger Fell, and should be in the thick of things if reproducing the form of her latest Ripon third (5f, good to soft) to Ginvincible.
Her sole win came at Newcastle (6f) but she has run some respectable races elsewhere in defeat since (on turf). Faltered and unseated her rider when brought under pressure at Carlisle latest.
C&D winner, admittedly hasn't won anywhere since September 2016 (Chester). However, in his favour he can compete from a much reduced mark nowadays and that fact was almost exploited at Redcar (third) latest.
3lb lower than when finishing third to Highly Focussed over C&D (good to firm) in May; hammered at Ripon next time and such an inconsistent overall form profile is an obvious concern.
14-race turf maiden; never threatened on her recent comeback run at Thirsk (14th of 17); is 2lb lower than when beaten a neck by Our Place in Loule in this race in 2018.
Hasn't won on turf since scoring over 6f here (good to firm) in August 2016; badly out of form in low grade handicaps (Class 6 & 7) since winning a 6f Classified Stakes race at Newcastle in February.
16-race maiden with regressive form; has had plenty of chances at this particular track, so despite plummeting down the handicap isn't at all difficult to dismiss.
A mare with a decent strike-rate for the grade (5-52), yet she can't possibly be recommended on the basis of her form throughout the course of 2018 and 2019; look elsewhere.
Eight-race maiden; has posted a couple of reasonable efforts in recent weeks (Redcar and Beverley); could be there or thereabouts in a weak race if only able to find that fraction extra in the closing stages; worth chancing.
Forecasts
Dancing Mountain (11/4), Rego Park Lady (3/1), Red Stripes (8/1), Funkadelic (8/1), I'll Be Good (9/1), Raquelle (10/1), Little Miss Lola (12/1), Popping Corks (14/1), Picks Pinta (20/1), Gunnabedun (22/1), Corton Lass (28/1), Lady Joanna Vassa (66/1)
An unappealing finale. However, we'll send a few shekels in the direction of the very lowly-rated 3yo RAQUELLE. She hasn't disgraced herself in defeat of late, and although essentially a moderate performer she should be knocking at the door in a weak contest. Others in with a shout include Dancing Mountain and the veteran I'll Be Good, while the Irish raider Rego Park Lady is also one to monitor closely in the market exchanges.
- Raquelle
- Dancing Mountain
- Rego Park Lady
