Very speedy type who blasted away rivals on her seassonal reappearance at Haydock on heavy ground. That form sets the standard and looks very much the one her rivals will have to catch.

Failed to land a five-timer last time out at Newmarket having scored on either side of the winter break at Yarmouth and Bath. Very disappointing last time out in a Group 3 contest at Newmarket. This is closer to her level but more needed.

Generally consistent filly on the turf or the AW. Recent wins at Lingfield and Ripon put her in the frame though effort last time out was below par with no obvious excuses.

Finished last season on a high with an excellent effort to win a handicap at Redcar on easy going. Not beaten far on her last two appearances at Epsom and again at Redcar. Course and distance winner who is likely to be in the shake up.

Not the most consistent but very capable on her day. Below par last two runs following a fair victory at Southwell on the AW in April. Others preferred on the overall balance of form.

Put in one of her better performances in a decent Listed race at Haydock last month over six furlongs. Equally effective over the minimum trip. Interesting contender especially if market speaks in her favour.

Had some fair French form last season but has not really sparked yet for new connections. Cheekpieces tried here for the first time but looks an unlikely winner.

Last racecourse appearance came in this race last season but she failed to settle that day and tired in the closing stages. Very speedy mare who won two races at Windsor and Lingfield previously. Very capable and market may provide best clue.

Best effort this season was when winning a Chelmsford fillies handicap two months ago. Below par since then at Bath and Wolverhampton and it would be a surprise to see her win at this level.

Won a conditions race last season at Musselburgh but has not really progressed since. Two fair efforts this season at Bath and Chelmsford but would need to show huge improvement to play a leading role here.

Obviously well regarded and competed in three Group races last season with her best effort coming at Goodwood in August. Fair run on reappearance at York last month but looks below this standard.

Vastly improved effort last time out at Haydock over six furlongs on fast ground. Not expected to be suited by this step down in distance but any market support would be interesting.

Only one maiden win to her name and has shown only glimpses of ability since but it was encouraging that her best effort came last time out over this trip at Bath. Entitled to improve but others may prove too speedy.

Very consistent last year in Group events without troubling the judge. Will be interesting to see whether she has improved over the winter. Certainly deserves some black type but may have to wait for another opportunity.

Chester specialist who showed her liking for an easy surface when scoring handsomely on heavy ground in May before narrowly failing over same course and distance last week. In good form and entitled to go well unless ground rides too fast.

Reasonably consistent this season (best effort came over this course and distance last month). Missed the break and hung badly left last time out at Carlisle. May bounce back but others have better chances.

Verdict

Connections chose to send the speedy mare MAID IN INDIA for this contest instead of the Wokingham at Royal Ascot. She blew away her rivals last time out at Haydock and a repeat of that performance will see her win again. Only the drying ground may be against her. Rebecca Rocks is an interesting candidate but it is hard to assess how she will cope after such a long absence. She is very capable, however. The globetrotting Shumookhi is respected even if her recent form is below par while Gold Filigree is another who has ability but struggled last time out.
