Consistent AW performer with 2-12 record (four placed runs); twice finished second over C&D in September last in Class 2 events. Solid Goodwood run last month on turf and on shortlist here.
Son of Kodiac, won 2-3 last year in novice company before sound fourth on handicap debut over this C&D in September. Has ground to make up with Charles Molson on that run and fitness to prove on seasonal bow.
Listed winner on turf last May and ended 2018 with gutsy handicap success at Lingfield (7f, AW; 4-1jf) in higher grade than this. Rated 5lb lower here after winless spring campaign in Dubai.
Made short work of rivals to win 1m Newmarket handicap last month on turf bow, though beaten favourite at Doncaster since off this rating. First-time cheekpieces tried now, should have something to offer for in-form trainer.
Frontrunning sort with impressive AW strike rate (5-10), including winning four times in five starts since November (two wins here over 6f). Good turf effort from this mark at Newbury last month, not discounted.
Listed winner on the AW in Ireland in 2016, though has rather lost his way since. First run since leaving trainer Mick Halford, back from 317 days off and may need this.
On a losing run (without a win in 16 starts) but largely consistent on AW over winter/spring. Well held back on turf and may be high enough on ratings for this mission.
Made winning handicap debut over a mile here in April 2017, winless since however and well held in two Meydan runs last term. Starts life for new trainer on workable mark, albeit with something to prove.
Has plenty ability and made winning start for this trainer over C&D 13 days ago (made all), taking advantage of reduced mark. More on his plate having gone up 6lb, but has prior form to go well (lead may be contested).
Took advantage of declining rating to spring a 28-1 shock over C&D last month. Gone up 7lb and tackles better company now, ensuring repeat is not highly likely.
Slightly unlucky in-running last time over C&D, returning from a break and having been gelded, when third behind Sword Exceed. Clearly room for improvement and has run well here in the past. Can turn tables on that rival.

Forecasts
Laieth (7/2), Maaward (9/2), Papa Stour (5/1), That Is The Spirit (7/1), Ambassadorial (8/1), Walk On Walter (8/1), Charles Molson (10/1), Sword Exceed (14/1), Commander Han (14/1), Never Back Down (16/1), Mustarrid (25/1), Areen Heart (25/1)
There's likely to be plenty pace on here with That Is The Spirit and Walk On Walter confirmed frontrunners, which may hinder their respective claims, and Laieth also unlikely to hang around. Charles Molson comes here in good tune and can go well while better things are likely this summer from Never Back Down and Maaward. PAPA STOUR didn't get much luck in the run when third over C&D last time and lurks on bottom-weight, he's worth chancing.
- Papa Stour
- Laieth
- Charles Molson
