Failed to stay 1m3f last time out at this course having previously looked quite progressive. Drop back in trip and first time cheekpieces should aid his chances but faster ground may help even more.
Handicap debut. Improved on a promising seasonal reappearance at Salisbury at Leicester last time out and seems to be going in the right direction. More needed here but one to consider.
No obvious reason why he ran so poorly on his reappearance run at Wolverhampton last month. Had a slightly progressive profile last season. Needs to improve on last year's form to play a leading role.
Just ran out of it close home last time out at Goodwood. Slowly dropping to a winnable handicap mark but this consistent gelding may need to drop a few more pounds.
Won at Lingfield on the AW in February but hasn't built on that since then stepping up to 1m4f. Now back down in distance again but others have more progressive profiles.
Disappointing on handicap debut last month at Nottingham over this trip on soft ground. Entitled to improve on that effort but suspicion is overall level of form not good enough to score here.
Improved steadily as a two-year-old but below par on her seasonal and handicap debut at Kempton last month. Not totally out of it but others preferred on only his second attempt on turf.
First-time headgear applied in the hope of bringing a change of fortunate. Has shown little ability aside from one effort as a two-year-old. Not currently a betting proposition.
Ran some decent races as a two-year-old but has struggled slightly since her return. Showed more promise last time at Hamilton on easy ground over an extended nine furlongs. If improving on that effort she holds decent each-way claims.
Generally consistent filly; two decent efforts over 1m4f recently; untried on an easy surface but likely to be there or thereabouts now down in trip.
Has produced some fair performances around a mile this season since moving from Harry Dunlop. Step up in trip is an unknown as well as the expected easy ground.
Forecasts
Oydis (7/4), Ardimento (4/1), Isle of Wolves (5/1), Debbonair (7/1), Mrs Meader (8/1), Bug Boy (10/1), Northern Lyte (14/1), Lucipherus (14/1), Wave Walker (25/1), Bayaanaat (33/1), London Pride (50/1)
A tricky race to end the card with NORTHERN LYTE just given the verdict given her liking for an easy service and the promise she showed last time out. Isle of Wolves will be winning soon but it remains to be seen whether he is fairly handicapped here. If the ground drys out sufficiently then Lucipherus holds evry chance dropping back down in trip and with the cheekpieces applied.
- Northern Lyte
- Isle of Wolves
- Lucipherus
