Races mainly over 7f/1m but worth a try at this trip, especially on soft ground and with this uphill finish. Close fourht to Gossiping at Chester last time looks all the better after winner went in again at Epsom, and of interest.
7f winner on sodt ground at Wetherby last year, and was some 3l behind Imperial State at Chester last time, so has ground to make up with that one today. Will be fitter for that first run of season though, so not discounted.
Very useful and speedy sprinter when on song, last success coming at Newmarket last August but still 5lb higher today. Will be happier back at this trip but overall, others more persuasive at the moment.
Winner over 6f here last time, that on quicker ground (and removal of headgear) but she has won on soft too, so will handle conditions fine. 3lb rise for that win looks fair and he may well progress again.
Redcar winner in April but below that form in two subsequent starts, and two efforts on soft ground have seen him finish well beaten. Best watched today.
Two wins in 11 starts, so knows how to win if the opportunity is there, and his neck second in a big field at Ripon on seasonal reappearance in April reads well. Soft ground would ask a new question but overall, looks progressive and has a squeak.
Two wins at Southwell over the winter show he knows how to win, and his Ascot effort after a break last time is best forgiven, as he raced alone. On a good mark and if handling the ground, looks one of the main players.
Sprang a 33-1 surprise at Southwell back in March but showed that to be no fluke when running to the same level at Wetherby last time. Drop back in trip is a question but is progressive and cannot be ruled out of a wide open event.
Looks on a very dangerous mark these days and returned to form with a close third over C&D last time out. Would hold a big chance if he can take a small step forward on that, and another with chances in a punters nightmare to solve.
Pretty consistent and no problem with conditions, having finished second over C&D on soft ground last time out, but his wins these days tend to come in a lesser grade than today's and he may be biting off a bit too much.
Just the one win in 20 starts and is coming here off the back off an absence (has gone okay fresh before). No issue with conditions at all but is basically lower grace than most of these and may struggle to get competitive.

Forecasts
Avenue Of Stars (4/1), Air Raid (5/1), Kenny The Captain (6/1), Imperial State (6/1), The Right Choice (7/1), Zumurud (9/1), Zig Zag Zyggy (10/1), Equidae (11/1), Yes You (12/1), Galloway Hills (14/1), My Amigo (14/1), Case Key (14/1), Mable Lee (28/1), Upstaging (33/1)
This looks very open, and cases can be made for plenty of them. Zig Zag Zyggy brings some good form into the race and should be thereabouts come the business end, and similar can be said of Avenue Of Stars, although he might find this grade just beyond him. Imperial State and Air Raid are both worth a try back at 6f but the vote goes to the very well handicapped KENNY THE CAPTAIN, who looks ready to bounce back to form after a good effort last time, and has every chance here.
- Kenny The Captain
- Zig Zag Zyggy
- Imperial State
