Well held on three starts in novice company, including on seasonal reappearance at Windsor on first run since being gelded. Tried in cheekpieces of handicap bow.

First run since being gelded and was making his handicap debut and seasonal reappearance when seventh of 13 over 1m at Chelmsford. Bit to prove back on turf, but stable is going well.

Kempton winner in March, but went up 6lb to this mark and struggled over 1m2f at Chelmsford last time. Should be happier back at this shorter trip after making a lot of the running on the latter occasion.

No wins from seven starts, but seems to be improving as he drops in distance. Good third over 1m1f at Musselburgh last time and interesting to see how he fares over this even shorter trip.

Off the mark when winning a Yarmouth handicap at the end of last month. No reason why he should not get involved again off a 3lb higher mark.

Three fair efforts since joining current stable from Stan Moore's yard, latterly when third of 12 over 1m at Lingfield last month. Competes off the same mark and has run well at this venue.

Behind Lippy Lady when sixth at Lingfield last time, but has been eased 4lb by the handicapper. One to keep an eye on in first-time cheekpieces.

Little to shout about in three novice events. Tries her luck in a handicap for the first time and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in her favour.

Out the back in three maiden/novice events last summer. First run since and ventures into handicap company so she is one to note in the betting.

Has cut little ice in 6f/7f AW handicaps, including at Southwell last month in first-time blinkers which are left off this time. Stable in red-hot form, though, so certainly worth a second look.

Fair fourth of 13 in a classified race at Kempton last month. Goes handicapping for the first time and is worth a market check.

Very little show in five races in novice/handicap company. Has a lot to prove despite 5lb lower rating.

Stable companion of Greyzee who has little form to his name, but is down 4lb from latest outing, is fitted with blinkers for the first time and steps up 2f in trip, all of which makes him intriguing.

Forecast

Act Of Magic (7/2), Lippy Lady (9/2), Greyzee (9/2), Truckingby (11/2), Sacred Warner (9/1), Smith (10/1), Poetic Motion (14/1), Legend Island (14/1), Bring Us Paradise (14/1), Quarto Cavallo (20/1), Harbour Times (25/1), Cala Sveva (33/1), Bumblekite (33/1), Sari Mareis (40/1), Power Seeker (40/1), Magnetic (100/1)

Verdict

Plenty of unknown quantities make this a desperately tricky contest for punters, but at least GREYZEE knows how to get the job done and he will be happier over this 2f shorter trip having failed to get home last time. Cases can also be made for Act Of Magic and Lippy Lady, while others who are probably capable of better include Truckingby, Sacred Warrior and Quarto Cavallo. Power Seeker is an interesting second string from the stable of the selection.

  2. Act Of Magic
  3. Truckingby
