11-time winner enjoying a renaissance at present with back-to-back wins registered at Wolverhampton and over C&D latest. Carries a penalty here but in current order he will take plenty of beating again.
Dual turf winner lost her way for previous connections and after a mildly promising start for this yard here she struggled again latest. Hard to be confident at present.
Dual-winner was pretty consistent through the winter hinting a third win might materialise but recent form has been a shade of that so despite handicap now being within reach he's hard to fancy.
Belatedly gained first ever win on Tapeta at Newcastle two starts back but failed to build on that here with a 7lb rise looking pretty harsh given overall record. Same handicap mark today makes life tough but better than latest expected.
Very effective on all AW surfaces and won over C&D again three starts back. Latest struggles can be forgiven given he's never won on turf but now just 1lb higher than aforementioned win he merits respect here.
Now 18 months and 11 starts passed since lone win as a two-year-old. Had some fair form last year but two most recent efforts temper enthusiasm.
Long standing maiden but placed eight times at Dundalk for previous connections. Starts out for new yard here with some hope given last four runs were all solid. Not ruled out.
Yet to demonstrate a real aptitude for AW racing (0-6) although this will be his first ever run on the Fibresand. Hard to take much encouragement from his last run however so rates a risky proposition.
C&D win his first at the 21st time of asking. Ran well again here next although only midfield last time out. Handicapper may have his measure now but still envisioning a pretty bold bid.
Almost two years now since his last win and a 1-24 AW record does little to inspire either. Best recent form gives him a shout off this mark but comes with plenty of risks.
0-8 on Fibresand with few of those starts giving any rise for optimism that she can improve her 1-19 career record over this 5f. Slightly better latest after a break but found little under pressure again.
Forecasts
Red Invader (3/1), Red Stripes (4/1), Ar Saoirse (7/1), Kath's Boy (8/1), Skyva (9/1), Le Manege Enchante (12/1), Flying Foxy (12/1), Racquet (16/1), Furni Factors (16/1), Optimickstickhill (25/1), Independence Day (40/1)
In a race that won't take a great deal of winning John Butler seems to have found in-form RED INVADER a great chance to land his hat-trick. Recent C&D winner Red Stripes is back to a very workable mark and the most obvious danger. Irish import Ar Saoirse could hardly have found a softer race to start his career in Britain.
- Red Invader
