Won here over 7f back in his younger days (only run here twice since); bounced back to form last time when dropped into this company at Wolverhampton (5f). Small penalty still leaves him fairly treated; blinkers back on, not without his quirks.

Trainer has had some fair wins with his sprinters here although this one is a Fibresand virgin coming here off the back of needing her first run of the season. Should strip fitter now; won on her only try at 5f, of interest if she handles Fibresand.

Returned from his latest long break (may have had some issues) to finish a respectable fourth on his first run here over 7f. Now drops down to 5f returned here with the main concern being his lack of a win at this trip; may struggle for pace.

His best career efforts have come over C&D although he hardly looks a winner waiting to happen over this trip. Often slow away (was last time) he finished to good effect; looks worth a try at 6f around here.

Viking Wayb37

7/2
Fibresand debutant (by a sire; Society Rock with a good record here) who finished a respectable fourth after a break over 6f at Wolverhampton last time. Given a positive ride there he only faded late on, one to consider but does remain a maiden.

Bumped into the back to form Red Invader at Wolverhampton last time finishing second with the revised weights giving him a chance of extracting his revenge. Headgear re-applied this time for Fibresand debut; enters calculations.

Not disgraced on her first try on this surface finishing third to Gunnabedun (runs in the 2.35) last time out minus her usual headgear. All her best form is at 5f and now runs off a 2lb lower mark having proven herself on Fibresand; shortlisted.

0-7 on Fibresand with none of those starts giving any rise for optimism that she can improve her 1-18 career record over this 5f. Well below form in a first-time visor when last seen over C&D she has a long absence to overcome also.

Offered little in three turf qualifying runs before switching to the AW last time for her handicap debut over 5f at Newcastle. Ran to a poor level there the switch to this sphere offering little encouragement for the future; Fibresand newcomer.

Gave some hope that she wasn't a lost cause in very low-grade handicaps won her penultimate start over 5f at Lingfield (ran better than her finishing position). Failed to build on that promise last time; form here has looked modest at best.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-12| J: Raul Da Silva| T: J R Jenkins| OR:  45

First-time blinkers failed to provide any improvement on her last start on her first try at the minimum trip. No real form to speak of and looks a lost cause even at this lowly level.

Forecasts

Viking Way (7/2), Filbert Street (9/2), Red Invader (5/1), Maureb (6/1), Bahango (13/2), Boudica Bay (8/1), Poppy Jag (10/1), Optimickstickhill (25/1), Tilsworth Rose (50/1), Tina Teaspoon (50/1), Ise Lodge Babe (80/1)

Verdict

There’s always a danger that Red Invader could just repeat his Wolverhampton performance and blow these away he has after all shown form off much higher marks in the past and is proven on this surface. However he’s does gave his quirks and it may well be that Bahango could reverse the form at the revised weights and he does have what looks to be on this season’s evidence a better draw. BOUDICA BAY is still fairly unexposed though and having had a run now she looks as though she could be dangerous off this mark if she takes to the surface, she’s certainly well drawn. Viking Way is another to throw into the mix with Poppy Jag also worthy of a mention after her run here last time.
  1. Boudica Bay
  2. Bahango
  3. Poppy Jag
