Has shown promises in maidens a two/three-years-old, without necessarily being progressive. Needs to build on recent Leopardstown run.

Has finished in the frame on all of his four starts to date. Last two runs playing second fiddle over 6f at Naas to pair of decent sorts. Up in trip and major player.

Footstepsinthesand gelding out of a Red Clubs mare. Only beaten a neck into second spot on debut this month at Gowran Park over this trip and strong chance to build on that pleasing start. Gelded since.

A half-brother to two-year-old 6f winner Palenville and 1m winner Pirate Rebel. Not the most obvious winner on first run, but positive jockey booking.

Gelding by Showcasing out of a Sadler's Wells mare. Cost €44,000 as a foal before going for 20,000 guineas as a yearling. Much to work on after Naas and Cork efforts either side of a layoff.

Gelded son of Born To Sea and a half-brother to a couple of decent winners. Plenty to work on after going down nearly 20L over this trip at Naas on debut in September and failing to improve last month at Navan over a mile.

Gelded son of Footstepsinthesand out of a Rock Of Gibraltar mare. Cost connections €60,000 as a yearling. Likely to need the experience on racecourse debut.
Born To Sea colt. Dam, maiden (stayed 1m2f), half-sister to very smart middle distance winner Way To Paris. Likely to improve for this experience.
Born To Sea colt cost connections €18,000 at the sales last year; not done enough in either start to warrant being put forward as a likely player in this field.

Morpheus gelding, cost €5,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to winner up to 1m2f El Borracho. Respected trainer and booking of Kevin Manning ensures he's worth a closer look.

Kodiac colt, cost £210,000 as a yearling. Unable to repay any of his price tag in two starts last season, but more like it on reappearance at Cork over this trip and possibly more to come with blinkers tried / yard in form.

Fast Company gelding, cost €3,000 as a yearling. Put up a big effort at Naas on debut in November but nothing like as good back there in one start since. Bit of a question to answer for now.

€85,000 yearling by Camelot, unable to get truly competitive in runs at the Curragh and Leopardstown either side of a winter break (First Reserve).

Verdict

Clashaniska hasn't been far away in any of her attempts so far and is likely to go close once more for trainer Gordon Elliott but she might yet again have to settle for minor duties as GENETICIST made a promising debut in second spot at Gowran Park recently. He's been gelded since and could take a step forward now, enough to sway the vote narrowly his way. Wartime Hero is best of the rest while newcomers Ventnor and Lumsden are worth noting.
