This season's progress appeared to have been halted by the handicapper last time. May not be in so deep on this occasion although he may be hard to settle in this smaller field.
Won two of his first three as a juvenile and ended the season with a couple of good efforts in nurseries at Doncaster that did little for his handicap mark. Performances slipped in the second half of 2018 and there have been signs of temperament.
Subject of a gamble on his return here two weeks ago when just finding the in-form Lion Hearted too good. Things may have been different given better luck in running and he has an excellent chance to make amends.
11 of his 13 wins have come at Southwell but he is 0-7 here. However he did beat Saturday's big sprint winner Saaheq last time and he has shown ability on Polytrack.
Has held his form well this winter and is proven on the surface. Little margin for error off this mark though and his best recent efforts have been in lesser company.
Winner of a 7f Wolverhampton maiden for Ed Dunlop two years ago. Missed the whole of last season and hard to fancy after such an absence from a mark that demands him to be near his best.
Not disgraced here on penultimate outing when unlucky in running. The winner and third have upheld the form since, whilst she in turn faced a tough task from out of the weights last time. Failed to stay this far on only previous attempt.
Registered a third C&D success in January and is now 7lb lower in the weights. That reflects a big drop in standards and he is probably better at a lower level than this nowadays.
Forecasts
Quick Breath (5/4), Blame Culture (9/2), Harbour Vision (5/1), Regimented (7/1), Pearl Spectre (10/1), Sweet And Dandy (16/1), Mulzim (20/1), Crosse Fire (25/1)
QUICK BREATH is hard to oppose as this looks far easier than his last race when he bumped into prolific winner Lion Hearted and looked unlucky not to land a major gamble. Crosse Fire, Harbour Vision and Blame Culture have all had successful winters but are weighted accordingly. Regimented is attractively handicapped on his best form and may be the type who is best when fresh as his form last year deteriorated after a promising start.
- Quick Breath
- Crosse Fire
- Harbour Vision
