Bits and pieces of form in six starts as a juvenile. Steps up a furlong and has first start on artificial surface so, with stamina on dam's side, no surprise to see him shape well.
£120,000 Acclamation yearling. Won minor 6f handicap at Chelmsford in February and went close last time here off 3lb higher mark over same trip. Back up in trip now off 3lb higher mark.
Showed little on first two starts last year but did better in final race here over 6f when only beaten four lengths. Makes handicap bow over extra furlong for yard ticking over nicely at present.
Weakened inside final furlong in mile handicap recently and no surprise to see him drop back in trip. Won over C&D previous start off 4lb lower mark and with yard beginning to find its stride look a contender.
66/1 but kept on over 7f at Newcastle earlier this month to finish respectable sixth off 2lb higher having hinted at a little ability here in January over 6f. Yard has 19% strike rate so looks one for the short list.
Has gone close in two 7f h'caps at Newcastle and again ran well there last time. Not so promising in two runs on this round track, a fact that rather tempers enthusiasm for him here.
Placed in just two of 14 starts for David Evans and makes debut now for new yard having finished fourth in Leicester seller earlier this month. Inexperienced rider, and others make more appeal.
Dandy Man filly cost 45,000 guineas as a yearling but showed little in first two starts over 5f. Stayed on late to be never nearer fifth over 6f here last month and not without chance over extra furlong on handicap bow.
Not much to shout about in first four runs but did better last time over 7f at Southwell when third of 14 . Eased 1lb and may not be far away if handling this quicker surface.
Dandy Man filly whose half-sister was a fair handicapper at up to 1m. Showed some promise in all three starts in minor events last term, including over C&D. Lowly mark handicap for handicap bow so any market interest could be significant.
Fair fourth in C&D nursery in November off 7lb higher mark. May not have handled Fibresand at Southwell last time and has a chance if able to bounce back off low mark in first-time cheekpieces.
Best of four juvenile runs came on final start at Newcastle (7f) and not disgraced there on seasonal reappearance three weeks ago off 2lb higher mark. Only modest but not a complete no-hoper.
Forecasts
Havana Ooh Na Na (9/2), Antico Lady (6/1), Global Acclamation (6/1), Peruvian Summer (13/2), Your Mothers' Eyes (7/1), Klipperty Klopp (9/1), Fort Benton (9/1), Liam's Lass (12/1), I'm Billy Murphy (14/1), Mi Laddo (18/1), Rock N Roll Queen (25/1), Peters Pudding (66/1)
A moderate event but a number of these remain relatively unexposed and there could be a few improvers among them. FORT BENTON gets the nod having caught the eye with some good late work at Newcastle last time. Antico Lady shapes as though this extra furlong will suit, a comment that applies equally to Rock N Roll Queen. Global Acclamation has every chance. while Liam's Lass and Havan Ooh Na Na are other to note for any market support in an open affair.
- Fort Benton
- Antico Lady
- Rock N Roll Queen
