Daughter of Footstepsinthesand with lots of speed on the dam's side. Defied odds of 25-1 when winning well on debut at Windsor and has to be respected under her penalty on AW debut.

1/4
Starspangledbanner filly who cost £50,000 as a yearling. Even money favourite when blitzing her rivals on her racecourse bow at Kempton and looks a major player in her bid to follow up.

Horse silk
10/1
Camcho filly who cost €70,000 as a yearling and is from the family of a 5f Listed winner. Nice enough pedigree and one to note in the betting on debut.
4

Horse silk
16/1
Daughter of Exceed and Excel who cost 16,000 gns as a foal, but whose price shot up to £70,000 as a yearling. Plenty of speed on dam's side so no surprise if she proved popular in the market as she makes her racecourse bow.

(10)
Horse silk
10/1
Acclamation filly who cost £42,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to a winner over 7f. Represents a top northern yard and is another for whom a market check is advised.

(4)
Horse silk
40/1
Debutant by Swiss Spirit out of an Equiano mare so no shortage of speed in her pedigree. Cost only £5,500 as a yearling, however, and is probably best watched.

(8)
Horse silk
50/1
Helmet filly out of a Starspangledbanner mare, she is from the family of a couple of Group-race winning sprinters. Stable not noted for first-time-out juvenile winners, but is one to keep an eye on in any case.

(2)
Horse silk
80/1
Daughter of Dark Angel who cost £45,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to three winners at around 1m. May need further in time, but breeding offers hope for good show on debut.
9
(9)
Horse silk
33/1
Cable Bay filly who fetched only £5,500 as a yearling, but is a half-sister to a 6f two-year-old winner. One to watch on debut unless there is a move for her in the betting.
10
(5)
Horse silk
14/1
Starspangledbanner filly who cost 40,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to a 6f winner in Hungary. Stable usually strong in this sphere so she is one to note in the betting on debut.

Forecasts

Lady Kermit (1/4), Chasanda (17/2), Mighty Spirit (10/1), Macho Touch (10/1), Stars In The Night (14/1), Mia Diva (16/1), Siena Bay (33/1), Moneyball (40/1), Northern Grace (50/1), Penmellyn (80/1)

Verdict

Several nicely-bred newcomers give this race a strong look and the best of them may be Macho Touch, Stars In The Night, Mia Diva and Mighty Spirit. There seemed to be no fluke about Chasanda's debut win at 25-1, but LADY KERMIT was so impressive when scoring by 6L at Kempton on her racecourse bow that she has to be the selection.
  1. Lady Kermit
  2. Chasanda
  3. Mighty Spirit
