Maiden after nine attempts, but shaped encouragingly when fifth of 13 in a first-time tongue tie at Wolverhampton. That aid remains and if the fitting of cheekpieces ekes out a little extra he may be able to get involved.

Winner of nine races, including a handicap over this distance at Wolverhampton last month. Fair chance at these weights and knows how to get the job done.

Horse silk
50/1
Lightly-raced mare who has failed to cut any ice in four starts. No obvious reason why that is about to change despite this being a weak race.

Only one win in 37 races, but last three runs over shorter distances have been respectable. Has yet to prove this sort of distance is what he needs.

Murhibh24

4/1
Maiden who has been placed twice in 11 races. Only fair form in recent starts and more is needed if he is to make a serious impact.

16/1
Veteran who boasts a superior record over hurdles than on the Flat. Not disgraced over this trip at Wolverhampton when last seen in October, 2017, and will probably need this return to action.

Best effort so far when second of eight in a 1m2f handicap at Chelmsford recently. Clear chance if able to replicate that display over this longer trip.

Beaten out of sight in two runs for current trainer since leaving Neil Mulholland's yard. Plenty to do at these weights on official ratings.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: Gabriele Malune(3)| T: M J Attwater| OR:  44

Maiden after 16 races, but latest run over 1m3f at this venue was a decent effort. Career record makes him hard to fancy, however.

Sigrid Nansenp,t20
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: Rossa Ryan| T: Alexandra Dunn| OR:  50
16/1
No wins in 16 starts and not at her best recently, but best form gives her a chance against some ordinary rivals. Third of 12 over C&D in September reads well and a repeat of that effort would give her sound claims.

Forecasts

First Call (13/8), Murhib (4/1), Passing Clouds (11/2), Dolphin Village (6/1), Chief Sittingbull (8/1), Sigrid Nansen (16/1), Sir Dylan (16/1), Mr Frankie (20/1), Late For The Sky (50/1), More Harry (50/1)

Verdict

Dolphin Village may be getting on a bit, but knows where the winning post is if given the chance which is more than can be said for most of his rivals. However, in FIRST CALL he faces a rival who has hinted at better and the gelding hails from a stable which places its horses to great effect. Sigrid Nansen boasts form which gives her every chance, while Chief Sittingbull may do better in first-time cheekpieces.
