Four victories in 2018 saw his mark rise from 46 to 77. Well-backed last time when probably finding 5f too sharp and possibly needing the run after seven months off.

Chequered record since his juvenile success but dropping down the weights and into his first Class 5 handicap. Worth noting in the market.

Barring one run at Newcastle has raced to a consistent level in the early part of his career. Ran a career-best over this distance at Lingfield latest and respected in this grade on course debut.

Sole win came over 7f and cheekpieces worn then were left off last time and are again here. Others look better handicapped.

AW debutante for an in-form yard. Won first time out last year, but this mark has looked beyond her in three runs since her last success.

All three AW wins have come over this trip. New trainer wisely steps him up in distance having seen perform well under the circumstances on his first two starts for him.

Seems to handle 6f well at Southwell whilst struggling elsewhere. Has dropped to a more attractive mark, but others have more compelling profiles.

Generally goes a while between victories and no surprise to see him find things harder since dead-heating at Kempton in January.

Did not have to improve at all to win a Leicester seller for Richard Fahey in August. More to do here with shorter trip an added concern.

Remains just 1lb higher than last winning mark for Jamie Osborne, however hasn't been in the same form in three starts since and well beaten on stable debut. Hasn't been suited by this trip in the past and best watched.

Chances on some pieces of form but she is generally hard to win with and her last two starts have been poor. Tough task from out of the handicap.

Capable of blazing a trail from the front and appeared to be coming to hand at Lingfield last month. Drawn to exploit his early pace but beaten in lower grade on Tuesday and losses continue to mount.

Verdict

SPRING ROMANCE has gone off favourite for his last two starts and may have needed the run more than expected last time. The return to 6f can only help and he can defy topweight at the expense of Ballyquin who returned to form at Lingfield. Cappananty Con will benefit from the return to 6f, whilst Top Boy can never be discounted from this sort of mark.
