Useful handicapper but does has the habit of finding one or two too good and he hasn't won for 28 starts. Last seen in the autumn he could be forgiven his last three runs for various reasons but may well need this on his return to action.
One of six C&D winners that go to post he didn't look as though he enjoyed the Fibresand last time, regressing from his comeback run at Lingfield. This is an easier contest than those two but he may just need this after another break.
Quirky sort who can get involved at this level when he decides to put his best foot forward (last win came in this grade). Good second last time out over 6f at Kempton and that gives him a chance if he's in the same mood.
Trainer has his runners in good form and this one is a three-time C&D winner. Slipped back below his last winning mark; his last run would suggest that he's threatening to come good soon and given a sound chance in this.
Back from a break during which time he's had wind surgery. Last seen at Kempton in October (spoilt his chance by being slow away). Over a year now since his last win; 4lb below that winning mark but best watched on this occasion.
Five-times a winner here (four over this trip) with his latest success coming in December off a 3lb lower mark. Not in the same form when last seen on Fibresand at Southwell and will be much happier back on Tapeta; front-runner.
Dual C&D winner (also won over 6f here) who enjoyed the drop into 0-75 grade when winning over 5f at Chelmsford in January; suited by an uncontested lead. Two consistent runs since he should remain competitive; may get taken on upfront.
In good form last year recording five wins all at the minimum trip but has yet to win on the AW (0-7) and comes here off a break. Usually likes to be up with the pace and will have competition for that position here; best watched.
This is very much his grade and he proved that much with a C&D win in November with cheekpieces on. Ran better than the bare result last time (no headgear) when caught further back than ideal; not out of this.
Useful sort who is generally kept busy (two-time C&D winner); slipped back below his last winning mark now. Showed up well recently, coming home with real gusto under hands-and-heels riding; needs things to go his way, of interest on his latest run.
From a yard in good form he's already struck twice this year on the Tapeta at Newcastle over 5f both times (has a good course record). Steps up in grade now off a career-high mark but not discounted given his recent form.
Forecasts
Something Lucky (5/2), Joegogo (4/1), Primo's Comet (5/1), Another Angel (11/2), Upavon (11/2), George Dryden (13/2), Poyle Vinnie (7/1), Just That Lord (8/1), Dynamo Walt (8/1), You're Cool (10/1), Dapper Man (14/1)
No lack of pace in this sprint handicap and it won’t be a surprise to see a well contested lead with several of these likely to go forward; of that group Joegogo and course specialist You’re Cool look the pick. Something Lucky will appreciate any pace to run at given how well he performed in this scenario at Lingfield on Saturday but the stable form DYNAMO WALT just tips the scales in his favour especially as his recent form has shown that he’s threatening to come good soon. Primo’s Comet isn’t out of this and neither is Another Angel although that one probably needs a career-best to land this.
- Dynamo Walt
- Something Lucky
- Joegogo
