On a hat-trick following recent back-to-back wins at Lingfield (6f-7f); carries a 6lb penalty for Friday's victory (beat Ever Rock by 1½L); Gina Mangan replaces Katherine Begley (also rides here tonight) in the saddle.
Capable of winning a race or two judged upon the level of form shown for her previous trainer William Haggas (7f-1m1f is fine); low-key on recent stable debut and the hood is now applied (accompanies cheekpieces).
Showed improved form when springing a 50/1 surprise over C&D ten days ago (on just her second ever AW start) - third placed Energia Flavia runs earlier at 4.35pm; the handicapper has given her a chance with just a 1lb rise.
AW maiden after 12 starts, although she has done plenty of her racing on Fibresand at Southwell; slipping in the weights, so that should help as should the excellent form of the Oakham trainer Mick Appleby.
Awarded the race on her penultimate start at Chelmsford (7f) and the combination of a drop back in trip (to 5f) and a luckless passage in running counted against her at Lingfield latest; still feasibly treated.
Winner of a 6f Doncaster maiden in May 2016 (33/1); raced just once more until reappearing last July; has struggled since and continued to fall in the weights; unconsidered unless any sign of market support arriving.
Boasts a fair AW strike-rate (5-32); off the track since making his debut for this trainer over 7f at Leicester in July (finished in midfield); current well-being is taken solely on trust.
2-13 on the AW (a 6f and 7f winner); creditable efforts on all three starts for Tom Clover (bought for 5,000gns in July 2018), including when finishing 3½L third to Amor Fati at Chelmsford (7f) latest; blinkers on with Morris booked.
4lb lower than when getting up late to score going away at Lingfield (7f) in April; hasn't scaled those relative heights since, although hasn't seen too much racing either; inexperienced 7lb claimer aboard.
C&D winner in February 2018 (beat Critical Thinking by a neck); 2lb below that last winning mark and made the frame at Kempton (7f) latest; entirely possible that he'll figure prominently in the finish.
180,000gns yearling; sold unraced for 4,000gns in July 2018; steadily getting his act together with experience and arrives seeking a hat-trick following a pair of Class 7 wins at Chelmsford (1m) and Kempton (6f); still reasonably well weighted.
Not fully exposed after making just six racecourse appearances (0-3 on the AW). However, it'll come as a major surprise if he's sharp enough to win this race off a 115-day absence.
Forecasts
Foreign Legion (7/2), Shamlan (5/1), Daring Guest (11/2), Mooroverthebridge (6/1), First Call (6/1), Brockey Rise (11/1), Holy Tiber (14/1), Eponina (14/1), Spiced (16/1), Chez Vegas (25/1), Clement (25/1), Big Amigo (100/1)
Plenty are worthy of consideration in an open race so the best advice is to keep stakes at the minimum. Both Brockey Rise and Foreign Legion are on hat-trick missions with the Luke McJannet-trained runner preferred of that duo despite stepping up from Class 7 handicaps. Shamlan is fairly consistent overall and remains handicapped to have a say, whilst the filly Holy Tiber should appreciate stepping back up in trip after meeting trouble in the run over 5f at Lingfield recently. However, it is the booking of Luke Morris that catches the eye most for the newly-blinkered DARING GUEST, who rates as the tentative advice.
- Daring Guest
- Shamlan
- Foreign Legion
