Ran well above expectations when last seen out; showing improvement from her debut on the AW in November 2017. The absence since June has to be a worry. The betting can guide.

Three starts over hurdles have brought nothing in return and the lightly raced mare (for a five-year-old) makes limited appeal this time.

Cost just 3,000 gns and was well held on debut at Kempton earlier this month. Big improvement required.

A half-sister to winners over this trip but showed very little interest on debut at Kempton (finished behind Breakfast Time) a fortnight ago. Others more intriguing at this stage.

Never better than mid division on debut at Wolverhampton and was readily outpaced near the finish. Should improve for the run but improvement required.

Related to several winners and did show improvement over C&D last time out. Needs to take a big step forward but this isn't the strongest event and the filly could be good value to make the frame if she can find more.

Looked a tad short of pace on debut over 7f here last month and very likely that a step up in trip will be in order before too long. Cost just £600 so expectations are likely to be set accordingly.

Solid if unspectacular run on debut at Wolverhampton last month. Subsequent runners from that race have performed with mixed fortunes since though. Another who needs to take a big step forward.

A Lethal Force filly out of a Kyllachy mare, related to several winners over a variery of trips all of whom represented the Cheveley Park Stud. Not out faced on debut and worth a betting check at least.

Out a Listed race winner over this trip, the portents looks appealing for moderate success on paper. Yard very quiet just now, so probably safest to just take notes this time.

Unable to reel in a surprise winner on debut but was really motoring near the finish and only just failed. The step up in trip is sure to suit on that evidence and this 280,000 gns purchase (as a yearling) looks the one to side with this time.

Had a few of these in behind her on debut and even though she was well held herself, the filly did show a good attitude when asked for effort. Looks the type to do better in handicaps though.

Forecasts

Vandella (4/11), Capriolette (8/1), Red Fedora (8/1), Perfect Grace (14/1), Tanzerin (16/1), Loch Lady (20/1), Yvette (20/1), Gold Fleece (25/1), Breakfast Time (25/1), Mrs Meader (66/1), Evie May (66/1), Puzzle Cache (150/1)

Verdict

Having cost 280,000 gns and made a solid impression that stepping up to a mile will suit, VANDELLA stands outs the most appealing betting proposition in modest finale. Perfect Grace and Loch Lady are entitled to have come on for their respective debut runs and also merit a betting check. As does Red Fedora, who won't need to be anything out of the ordinary to make the frame on her racecourse debut.
  1. Vandella
  2. Perfect Grace
  3. Red Fedora
